2006 Draft recap

Another draft is done and How did you do.

Minnesota - After trading back into the second round to get his hidden gem geo forgot to click round 2 in the check box and poof thanks Montreal for stealing my boy FB - Jeff Wooten with strength and stamina galore 47 reps ouch. We blew it. Nyco to the negotiating table PLEEEEEEEEEEZE.

So - Pick # 58 - DE - Peter Rabbit - solid figures across ashould develop well and make the second team as a solid run stopper. He needs to add some muscles in the weight room very weak.

Pick # 90 - SS - Armando Tsetsefly - His A+ run cover Along with strength and agility made the perfect LB but we failed to take into account his weak tackle skills. A heavy dose of A-drills will probably help as we dont want to weaken him with the S drills. Solid backup.

Pick #122 - C - Jack Antonio Flash - I have been very good at developing centers to date and will have to start this youngster. If the sacks come a calling in Sota we will have a nice chair waiting for him to warm it up. Attitude adjustment with the Adjustor.

Overall grade C+ .

Was not surprising to see the Quarter Backs go 1 and 2 and a surprising 12. Is one of them The do no wrong phenom possibly. I like Jamie... And hope that F pot on Gardner is defied by developement. And of Course Paskett should go full time day 1. Going to enjoy following these 3.

So how did your draft go.

Det. needed a QB...and got 3. Surprisingly, got the 1 I expected @ 25. Thought the competition would be more fierce for QB's. The 2nd and 3rd picks were also qbs...needed a young backup but the 3rd pick was wasted.
4] got a LT that may grow into the position and a so-so RB @ 5. Suspect the last2 picks are waiver fodder.

D+. Needed QB but the team is aging and didn't get much to grow into positions. Desperation for a QB muddled the brain so I fudged the draft.

The Tiger Ants only had three worthwhile picks, 2nd-4th, getting their 6th, 14th and 16th rated players.

The first two picks, given this was a team which won zero games last season, centered on solving some fundamental Offensive Line issues. The top pick is a Guard who is okay, a LG with small upside. The other Guard has more potential and is a better Run Blocker. The next pick was a mediocre SS type, but he's pretty much the only play at the position.

Toledo scores a C-, maybe a C if at least these prospects can stay on the field for what should be another horrid losing season.

Colorado didn't have many picks but we did have the #1 overall. Usually I'd trade that but we were hurting for a franchise QB so went with Paskett. His high agility/break tackle should help alleviate our sack problem (we gave up the most sacks last year despite a fairly conservative offensive system). Outside of that we got a depth piece at LB, a fringe WR/HB guy, and a QB who we might try to develop into a decent backup. The last 2 guys will either be cut or possibly kept on the reserve list.

Draft grade: N/A considering we really only had 1 pick

With a team getting older and the agility getting worse, new GM Saint Bernard along with his coaching duties decided to get the most of this draft by trading away 2008 draft picks for this year. He did keep next years pick along the way.

His first priority was rebuilding a sad defense with first round pick OLB Matt Ford. http://www.football.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=3997560 Best LB I have seen in along time.

Next was 17th pick DE Billy Hofer. Might have been a reach here. Has all the tools but lacking the stamina execution and attitude. Hopefully be great down the road http://www.football.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=402316

With the 3rd pick and 38th overall picked a needed RB http://www.football.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=4023198 which i think will be something special.

Our fourth pick 49th overall SS Mario Carr. Can anyone tell me why this gem fell so far down? Come on guys this guy is the bomb. http://www.football.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=3997557

With the 83rd overall pick got a decent CB that can cover with speed and agility. http://www.football.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=3997773

We got our defensive help and we still have next years draft class. We are determined to bring this team back to the playoffs and another championship run.
