Hello everyone, just got control of my team so wanted to give an official greeting. I know many of you already, which is the biggest reason I chose the VPL over the (sadly) tons of teams available.

Looking forward to playing with all of you - zero bots here, yay! - and can't wait to get started. If anyone sees players they like on my roster please don't be shy in making an offer. Surprisingly for a rebuild there are several star players still here.

Welcome to the VPL! Welcome as well to dunn_acolyte, I have played with both of you in the CFL and beta respectively, these owners will only add to the great owners here.

It looks like San Fran still is for sale so we might need one more to prevent the bot.

I wanted to let the league know that next season will likely (about 95% chance) be my last here in the VPL, that way there is plenty of time to recruit a potential new owner (and the team should be solid), 50 seasons is a nice round number (I never will catch causey!)...

Welcome to the new owners...glad to have you here! Good luck.

But I have to say I'm a little distraught to hear Beanballs might leave. Say it ain't so.

Yes, this is really a bittersweet thread now. Beanballs, you are a great owner.

I am about 95% so not 100%! It is nothing against the league (I have enjoyed the rivalries), but this format for me has become a little too predictable and I am losing interest in the team.

I really am not a fan of the boom/bust tanking and contending cycles in the dynasty formats (I have used it too), the CP trading (after we lost Morty), and the development curves (var dev is my fav) and injury system.

This is my second ever league so there is a lot of sentimental value, so maybe that keeps me here, 4 months is a long time away...

Welcome to the league!

I know what you mean about the variable development thing, it really keeps things interesting. I keep this league mainly because it was my first and I have a lot of history with the team. And I've been playing against some of you for so long. Seven years or something? They really fly by sometimes.

Welcome the league! This is a great league because of the owners for sure. I haven't been around as long as many of the owners here, but it would be a shame to see our Fearless Commish leave. Besides, without the 'Bohs who would we have to hate in NY?;)

Well I might stick around here after all, if this change goes through (everyone here take a look):

Thanks for pointing this out.

And it made me LOL to see the AOL referred to as the king of CP deals, because it was absolutely true

Yep, the AOL was surely that, you had to do them there, whether you were on the way up or the way down! I think you would agree that the 15-1 is much more interesting...

I'll echo Piper's thanks for pointing out the potential change. I rarely check that board, so I would have missed it.

I'd be in favor of the change. First, it would mitigate (or eliminate) the need for CP trades. Second, It just seems better/more "realistic". And third, it might keep Beanballs and Piper (and who knows who else) around.
