It seems the esteemed first place team has gotten by with having just one over the first twenty-seven games of the season and has a 22-5 record despite that situation.
To me if there isn't a rule, there should be. It isn't possible for many catchers in the majors to catch every single game and hit over .320, why should our game allow it?
And to be up front this post isn't just to make a friendly inquiry, it is to downright complain and let the owner of that team know that his modus operandi isn't appreciated.:puzzled:

I just joined this league and after a quick look over the teams I have a question. His back-up 2B has started 7 games at Catcher.

Why should everyone else in the league be required to have A back up catcher who in most cases do not hit like the player he used?
If there are rules they should be for everybody not just seven out of eight in the league...and why not follow them.. Its supposed to be a fun league.... there is no need to cheat.....

No it was his back up at first base, Jack MacGamwell who has hit .356 3 home run and driven in 13 runs... and that player had no fielding ability as a catcher....That means he should have paid a price defensively but did not....That's like using a designated hitter for his catcher...Why should everyone else in the league be required to have A back up catcher who in most cases do not hit like the player he used?

We do not have to carry any catchers:o
player must have 50% @ C for owner to start him.
We can train C but it is an illogical move so I dont think we could train to 50% in 2 years.
Abe starts whoever he wants when a C is needed. I've never noticed a penalty but have played my green 3rd and 4th picks when the ancients I drafted retired.:D
And I agree, cookie, there should be penalties:
lots of passed balls, a decline in pitch calling and location, guys getting 1st on strikeouts, stealing w/ impunity...should he get a throw off it would be wild.

That would be Ft Ritchie, Md [now defunct-1998]. Tricky Dick had just called an end to the war and I was thankful for being one of the 1st to be brought home. :)It was a nice place.
