1964 Hall of Fame Ballot

October 28, 2016 at 02:13PM View BBCode

Please only reply with your list of YES votes only. To get into the HOF, at least 12 owners need to vote (50% of the league), and the player needs to get at least 75% of the votes. If a player gets more than 20% of the votes, he will remain on the ballot next season.

Because of the stats from 2 leagues, I'll combine the totals on this page. Going forward, once we are nominating people that have only played for the ACL I will only provide the links to player pages.

When I look at the people that are getting votes in front of McKee and Brewer and a few others it makes me want to revoke those manager's voting privileges. Are managers even looking at the stats that are being compiled?? You have a guy with a .279 lifetime average with less homers, less slugging, less EVERYthing getting votes in front of a couple of fantastic .300 lifetime hitter with more of every other stat. I don't think people are taking this seriously and it sucks. Why were those two not first ballot shoe-ins?? I take my time and I vote correctly.

Give me a break.

Chicago votes yes for:

Looking for at least 5 more owners to chime in

Sorry I'm late, but let me explain my problem. I don't know if I've changed my thinking or this just occurred to me, but why are we voting for guys that barely played in the ACL into our HOF? I get that we've all got guys we want to see make it, some great players, but does this mean we should want our foreign players stats from Japan or where ever to see if they should make it? If I only take the stats from the ACL into account, no one has earned the honor.

Boston Harbor votes for :

No one.

To answer to SIRKERRETH, I'm having trouble with nominating players who dominated a 16-team vs. a 24-team league, but I completely understand it for owners who've had their teams since the merger. But since it's already established, I think it'd be weird to go back on it.

To answer to el_tigre, I'm happy to re-visit my criteria for the Hall of Fame (I'll admit that I never would've nominated Sparky Schmitz - a current HOF-er who finished his career 4 hits shy of 3,000 - based on my criteria, so I'll admit it's far from perfect) - but I also wonder if it'd be better moving forward to making Hall of Fame ballots anonymous if possible.

1) It'll be easier to get owners' attention through U2U vs. a forum post
2) Guys won't get crap for who they nominate

My intention is not to make the HOF more work for you Co_daddy, but they're just ideas. This should probably spark another thread, but I wanted to respond directly to the posts above.

Cheers.

And the vote has become political. I honestly could care less what team a player played for. I truly wish everyone was a little more grown-up with their voting. How old are we anyway?

Seems like everyone was going about their business and voting until you "el_tigre" basically said how stupid everyone was besides you for who they voted for. Must be awesome to be the smartest guy in the room all the time. I'm sure everyone has their reasons for who they vote for.

Last call for votes.

A couple of people on the bubble to getting in the HOF and getting bumped off the ballot.

Also, please keep discussions about the ballot on a different thread.
