Draft Celebrations and Laments
August 29, 2016 at 02:56AM View BBCode
It's that time again. Time for the most active part of the entire season (lol), the draft. With a lot of complex owners with some high picks this year and a fairly deep one from the looks of it, this thread will be for discussing the hits and misses of yours and other peoples' drafts.
I know it isn't the new millennium until next season but we've finally reached a fairly-recognizable year lol. Hoping this season brings a lot of fun and awesomeness as it comes just in time for the actual football season. With a roster (hopefully) that can actually do something this and the next few seasons, I'm hoping to have a very active and fun season.
Good luck in the draft. See you guys in about ten or fifteen minutes.
I'm not nervous at all (he says as he bets three drafts worth of picks on one draft) ... okay maybe a bit.

No words on my end except QB fell to #12??? and Kicker #68 With the A+ foot. Boy does my D offer plenty of holes how ever.

I had your kicker ranked one spot higher then the punter i drafted. Wonder why he was skipped over?

I wonder if you had Punt for 2nd round and K 3rd and later.

Edmonton (formerly Saskatchewan, and changed for no reason, other than the franchise's most successful period was in EDM back in the mid-'80s) may have pulled a "Portland Trail Blazers select Sam Bowie (instead of Michael Jordan.)" EDM took QB Stanfill 8th Overall, a losing franchise seeking some kind of definitive QB. Meanwhile, Minnesota, perennial power, took Fluke Zeus, and inter-Division foe Houston took Withycombe.
Both Zeus and Withycombe appear to be better QBs than Stanfill, but the gamble was on Stanfill's Potential, his fairly high IC conversions in the important throwing ratings. I mean, Stanfill doesn't blow anyone's skirt up, but maybe there's something there. If not, it won't be the first time my franchise has f*cked up QB drafting (this is the fourth Rd 1 dedicated to QB in the franchise's history, with picks in '75, '87 and '95, none of them ever better than 66 rated passers. SOLID.)
Outside of that, a Rd 3 LT and a Rd 3 TE, both depth, maybe useful.
EDM gets a C for their Draft, but could drop or rise dramatically depending on if Stanfill can become a starter. Which I secretly doubt, but hope for.
