Freeman is competing with Charley Hester for the starting outside linebacker job and looks ready to step in for former OLB George Boyd, who waived in August.
Signed to a four-year, $4.77 million contract that includes $2.78 million guaranteed and a $1.67 million signing bonus, Martin is the younger brother of Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Elbert Freeman.
"Nick Freeman is coming in here and so far it looks like a rookie who is mature beyond his years," Kooladess coach Warren Fukari said. "He understands the work ethic. I'm sure his older brother has helped him with that a little bit, but he has come in here and done some good things."

Anyone noticed for the first time in history a team (Detroit) has 7 members of the same family playing on the same team The Wynn family has 7 OL all playing for Detroit.

I thought OL Elbert Freeman from Dallas and OL Stan Freeman from Brooklyn were brothers. Were does Joe Freeman from Col. fit into the family.Anyone noticed for the first time in history a team (Detroit) has 7 members of the same family playing on the same team The Wynn family has 7 OL all playing for Detroit.

Nick Freeman is the youngest of 3 brothers, got picked on a lot by his 2 older siblings so he developed a mean streak growing up....hence the role as a LB.
I guess Detroit is owned by Sir Rhyosis, the local skin doctor in Detroit and to keep peace with his Russian mail order wife, Ivanna Wynn, he had to give a job to all her cousins.....just a thought.
