For seemingly no reason at all ABE would have started a middle reliever over the listed starter in my rotation?

I don't think I've ever seen that before. I checked and there was no 20 inning game or anything that would potentially have burned a starter.

Did you have your rotations set? I noticed that you recently had an injured starter. If so some sort of hick up with programming. I can't remember if it was this league or not, but I recently had a relief pitcher listed as the starter, however, he did not throw a single pitch before my starter came in for relief. He pitched a complete game, but was not reworded for the effort.

Yeah, rotation was set. The player was injured May 21 (sim time) and this anomaly didn't pop up until at least a week (sim time) later. Just can't figure it out...I wouldn't even have noticed, probably, if I had won that game but it snapped a lengthy winning streak so I peeked at the box score and it was an immediate WTF?
Although that reliever has starter durability it doesn't make sense that ABE would override my preferences and line up for zero reason.

Starters need to have 5 energy bars in order to be eligible to start. If there is none, I think ABE uses a player with 5 energy bars in the bullpen to pitch. A few seasons ago I was moving players around between my bullpen, rotation and minor leagues, and I did not have a guy with 5 energy bars. I did not think anything of it because one of the starters was listed as the "Next starter". When the game ended, I noticed that one of my relievers started instead.
