Please take a moment to post here if you are in favor of a merger or against a merger, or if you don't care either way. Those leagues most interested in merging will be paired up with another Dynasty league to have their teams migrated into the merged league.
The biggest benefit of a merged league is that you get to keep the team you have built and put it into a new, larger league with divisions and get some new owners to compete against. The biggest downside is that since you are working with copies of your teams, the individual histories of your players (statistics, awards, etc.) are lost as they do not exist in the new league.

This league will have at least 4 teams up for sale this season. Rather than possibly leave some of these teams as DynastyBots next season, we can instead merge two Dynasty leagues to create a new 24-team league.Please take a moment to post here if you are in favor of a merger or against a merger, or if you don't care either way. Would rather stay as one league, but if other owners want to merge, I'm game. I hate losing all the history.

I would rather not have bots but if I didn't care about league history, I would just join/create a different league.
Unless I'm satisfied about the talent skews, I vote no.

I'm confused about how the merger would work. And there's a drafting consequence that both half leagues haven't had access to the other's talent pool that doesn't feel right... it could take several [paid] seasons to normalize a skewed imbalance.I would rather not have bots but if I didn't care about league history, I would just join/create a different league.
Unless I'm satisfied about the talent skews, I vote no.

Would prefer not to merge. However having a lot of bots makes the league much less appealing.I vote not to merge

I have a question: How if at all is the draft effected if there is a merger? Is the talent in the draft pool increased? If not, I would probably change my vote to being against the merger. I say this because my team is getting older and that last few drafts have not been so hot for me. If there is an increase in teams, but not an increase in talent, that would be the beginning of the end for my team and I would most likely not renew again as it would be that much harder to rebuild.

It's not just you. I've had the top picks the last couple of years and I've NEVER seen worse draft pools - lol

I'm not a fan of the bots and would like to be able to trade with all teams. However, I have a lot of questions about what would happen if we merged into a 12 team league. I particularly do not like loosing the past stats. At this time at least, I vote no.

The current draft would occur before the merge. Future draft pools would have 150 players rather than 100, and theoretically the distribution of talent would also increase 50% but as noted the randomness in the drafts means there can be dry spells same as any draft.Chris

I would understand the possibility of merging if the trend continues toward more and more bots in the league. But this season with four bots could just as well be an aberration and I would like to see if things bounce back in the next couple of seasons before this kind of change.So for now, my vote is no for the same reasons as my fellow owners.

If you convert to a 3 GPD Salary League, you would get rid of the Bots (myself and others are ready to buy) while retaining league history. If anyone's intrigued by that, start the conversation.
Feel free to u2u me with any questions about the Salary game. It would be a major change, not for all tastes, and you'd need at least 10 or 11 owners on board.
