Park effects on speed
October 04, 2015 at 09:29PM View BBCode
My team is about midway through a rebuild. When done, I will have four very good players with speed in the mid to upper 90s. My question is, how much does your ball park really take into effect speed?
For example, will my high speed guys get more triples and inside the park homers in a huge park as opposed to fewer in a smaller park?
Three of the speed guys are OFs and will be my starting OF for at least the next decade. All are first and second overall picks. Would it benefit my team to have a huge park since I have the guys to cover the ground, or does this even matter?
Thanks in advance for any help.

If there are any threads on this site that someone can link for me that talks about parks and their effects I'd love to see it.

Speed has no effect on defense in the sim.
Turf and larger parks will increase doubles & triples. Inside the park home runs don't exist in the sim.

Speed should really be called baserunning. That reflects what speed is in the sim.
For defense, range is what covers ground.

That's not quit true. It should be called "glove" since range affects the chance to field a batted ball. For example a high range OFer doesn't cover more ground in a bigger stadium than a mediocre range fielder.
