1986 Playoffs - jbzomal75 version

September 21, 2015 at 05:23PM View BBCode

Maybe I should trade team names with Boston because AFE is bending me over.

A 9-6 lead at the half and receiving the 2nd half kickoff. 1st play of the half, my QB fumbles and Rochester recovers 18 yards from my goal line and scores a TD. No problem. Only down 4.

Next drive. In a game where I'm averaging better than 5 yards a carry, I get stuffed on 3rd and 0.2 (7 to 8 inches) and have to punt. Rochester's first play is a 43-yard pass play down to my 16. Four plays later, I'm down by 11.

Next drive. My RB Hopkins - who lost two fumbles all year - loses his second fumble of the game (the first one was on the Rochester 2-yard line). I catch a slight break when Rochester misses the field goal.

Next drive. Hopkins loses his third fumble of the game and second in as many drives. The quarter ends with Rochester on my 22-yard line and ready to score again.

Trade #72739 has been completed between the Boston Bendovers Again and the Winnepeg Jets. The Boston receives the Jets team name from Winnepeg in exchange for the Bendovers team name and a playoff loss to be dealt later today.

I had one of those a few seasons seasons ago in the EDFL CC final where I had it all going shutting down a teams complete offence losing only to his high powered multiple TD's off interceptions (and I mean 1 after another). We may have a Poltergeist in Winnipeg the ghost of JBzomal. Still a quarter to go and what I see no lead is ever safe anymore.

Take a look at the NE vs Orlando scoring. Orlando has 21 points off of 2 kick return TD's and an interception that gave them the ball inside the red zone!

I just wanted some of the newer owners to see what we used to see on an every other day - and sometimes daily - basis from one of our former owners. Ah, the rants of JB. Who misses them? Anyone? Anyone?

And then there was gan.... and Philly

Minnesota fans are stunned at losing their anchor to lebs most frustrating opponent. the younger Munster boy will now take over the reigns for next seasons disaster. Or will he? Should have gotten a bag of footballs as well.

Good luck final 8.

In the category of, "Huh, really?" the NC North Division has sent two teams to the playoffs for 11 consecutive years - the longest active (and perhaps longest ever) in the FHFL. The fact that all four franchises have been playoff teams during that stretch speaks to the overall quality of the division.

um the ac south sent 3 teams into the playoffs this year. in fact all 4 teams were above 500. in a tough match up with New England today. down by 7 after one but I am looking to tie it up right after the 2nd. quarter starts.

I was speaking more quality over a long term. In the past 10 years, our division has been represented seven times by three different teams in the SIM Bowl. And at least twice in that space, we've had two teams with double-digit wins not make the playoffs.

Certainly didn't mean any disrespect to what the AC South has done this year. I wouldn't want to have played in that division this year. The best team in the NC was 9-3 vs. conference teams. The AC South collectively went 15-1 vs. the NC (albeit against the NC South, which didn't have a team above .500).

Not on your life am I going to make this trade. All this pain and misery and disgust that I have been through is all mine and I'm a glutton for punishment.

I recall clearly the season we re aligned ---going in with leb / phen / boraiders soon to be zim and i felt this in the long term was going to be the division that had any of 4 teams able to do the magic. When we have our down seasons it may last 2-3 at worse. Even then the results in each inter division game to me is a coin toss except fo the few blow outs. unless one of us is in re build mode all 4 teams have their say. The division that is next will be the AC south i see it and can't wait. Should be plenty of fun for plenty of seasons before we even chatter about our next re alignment.

In the mean time we really have some nasty 4th Quarters coming up. The storm in EDM + SJ/ The NYT push vs current champs. Roc working hard to make the NC north a finalist again against a never say never team and of course the nail biter as Vir will now get the ball froma determined Mia squad to start the 4th. in good territory behind by a leg muscle.

in reference to a remark about daily rants. have any of you ever been in a league with the one and only Al Bundy. now there is a man who can rant. I have been in two leagues with him. back to trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat and pull one more come from behind win.

Rochester is crossing their fingers, eH?

This is the Highest that any of my Football teams have gone!!!

We are collectively holding our breaths, as Coaches. BUTT, also as Coaches, we are preaching All-Out Aggressiveness to our young, inexperienced players. Some are dumbfounded by the spotlight.

We can only hope that our guys snap out of it, AND "Go for the Gold"!

Should be a fun matchup Ap! Top two passing attacks meeting head to head, i think the balls will be deflated a little so they don't pop from all the altitude they will get ;)
