7 game losing streak...let's see how far I can take this thing....
I think I've lost every concievable way in this 7 game slide...
I had a .067 catcher beat me, Dave "The Rave" got picked off first just before Jake Moon hit a homerun that would have tied the game....
I've had my "star" pitchers get plowed and give up 2-3-4 runs in the first on came up short in the game
I've had errors by guys who normally fdon't have many
I think I've set a record for doubleplays grounded into
the typical Droogs early season swoon..I did it the last two years too...
congrats to any team that gets to face me over the next 20-30 games while my team continues to implode...
sorry, had to vent ;-)
even my team chaplain/moral beholder Jake Andrus was overheard muttering "shucks!"

Such is life... after contemplating throwing in the towel at the beginning of the season, the Boston Patriots have strung together a seven game winning streak. What's more amazing is that after Baltimore's 13 game streak, I'm only two games out of second place.

yeah, it happens
winning streaks and losing streaks, part of the game :)
I just try to have fun with it whether I'm getting my brains beat in or doing the Detroit Stomp on something else.
Although there are days when I wish I could put Dave The rave on the mound...lol

I've now lost 8 of my last 9
this really sucks
I'm getting frustrated...
bases loaded and a guys traikes out..next at bat, no one on, home run (but already down by several runs)
just when I think I have this game figured out, I realize I know absolutely nothing about it
I think I'm just going to let ABE run for then next couple days and not even look at the standings or games and see what happens...
sorry, had to rant and get it off my chest :)

I think you have to just understand that sometimes ABE mistreats teams and try to ride it, out there's no real rational explanation for somethings in this game. I know I have made some pretty crappy trades when I was frustrated so I am going with the youth thing and sticking with it no matter what. I look at Chuck Becker and go someone explain this and see some guys on other teams and go oh come on, but what the heck our day will come.

I actually see what you mean. I honestly just shook my head after that last game. Mark Hearn pitched a masterpiece and loses to me on one hit, a homer by Bobby Carter my back up 3rd baseman. That was it. Charlie Miller and Bobby G combined for a 4 hitter. I cant say I feel you, but I did see first hand your heartache. You really have some quality players.

I am just endlessly depressed by the malovelent force that is ABE, Dave the Rave would probably hit .220 for me, its ridiculous how much better guys do on other teams when compared with how they do for me, I have started a notebook of commonly used ways ABE can use to screw me out of wins for the Wind that mysteriously don't seem to happen for my other two teams. What do you do, just cry, toss your computer across the room and sell the cat on e-bay to get $ for a new puter! :(

yeah, I knew going in this season I didn't have the strongest pitching staff, but figured the bats would cover it for the most part...at lest until some late season trading and upgrades...
Mark Hearn has always seemed to be the victim of lack of run support (hence an ERA under 4 and 1 game under .500 record coming into this season)
but lately, even Dave The Rave has been in a slump (dropped almost 40 points in average over the last 2 weeks)
A lot of my hitters got off to quick starts though and are starting to fall back to earth, which I had anticipated, but didn't figure it would be all of them at once...
oh well, I'm sure after a couple more seasons in this league I'll see it swing the other way and/or see other teams go through the same thing...
I just try to keep a sense of humor about the whole thing and have fun....
still plenty of season left maybe I can even play spoiler down the stretch...

something else interesting, my single win in this bad stretch, I scored 20 runs...
lookout Wind...lol
but I'll probably score 15 runs and give up 16 ;-)))
