When does a player have to be on the major league roster to be eligible for the playoffs?

he has to be on your team by 8/31. if he's in the minors as of that date, he can still be called up to play in the playoffs. players who are not eligible for the playoffs are highlighted in orange after sept 1.

I am in the Cy Young League (15 gpd). Awhile back I noticed that we actually didn't have any trade deadline set. We ended up voting on it and we instituted one at 9/3.
You can check the league rules page (under league info) to see what it is for a particular league.

I believe that is true for all the dynasty leagues but in speed leagues it can be any date agreed on by the league.
