NFL Preseason week 1

August 18, 2015 at 05:26PM View BBCode

OK, so the assumption here is that everyone in the league is an avid football fan, and i just thought that i would spark the debates based on the week 1 preseason games. Personally i am a Buccaneers fan, hated the Jameis Winston pickup, would much rather have gotten Grayson, but that is me.

here are a few things that i have opinions on otherwise -

1. If the Chiefs do not start Chase Daniels this year, the entire staff needs fired. Chase has been the best QB on that team for 2 years now, but they still stick with the guy that is unwilling to throw the ball instead of taking a sack. Put someone behind center that will make plays when you need them and win you those close games - DANIELS!

2. Barring a couple serious injuries, the Jaguars are going to be a serious threat this season. Part of that is because they are going to be underestimated, part of that is because they are young and now of more experience under their belts. I like the coach, i think he is doing some great things, and it will show this season.

3. Oakland, despite having more talent on both sides of the ball, will still be the trash dumpster of the league (aside from the worst team in the league). They couldn't land any real talent in free agency and have to rely solely on their young draft picks to make plays. This is where the men play, those youngsters are going to take time to adjust

4. The 49ers end up with the first overall pick in this coming draft. They should take a QB but I bet they take a defensive player because their entire defense left with Harbaugh.

5. Buffalo should be negotiating with Tennessee last month to acquire Mettenberger. The Bills group of QB's is worse than the Jets and that is saying something. The Titans are obviously moving forward with Mariota, so time to secure that starter for your team.

6. The Redskins should be starting Cousins. Sorry RG3 but you stink something aweful and need to take a trip to the house.

7. Packers are going to win it all. I am sure I don't need to say anything else, but here it is, Aaron Rodgers.

8. Colts have reverted back to the days of Peyton Manning in his prime. Lets overload the offense with all the money and forget that you need a defense to win games. Nothing against Luck, he is a future HOFer without question, but Peyton only won one ring in that system, why would Luck do any better?

9. Jets have issues. Aside from the arrest of their best defender. Aside from the team breaking their starting QB's jaw (not much of a starter, but its what they are going with). Aside from the fact that they have absolutely the worst offense to put yards and points on the stat sheets. This defense is scary, but the team is too busy fighting with each other for it to matter.

10. Atlanta has quite possibly the best aerial attack offense in the league. With the new offensive coordinator, I bet they still try to run the ball first instead of throw the ball to Julio Jones on every down. Makes sense right?

1) Texans will still be looking for a QB while their defense keeps them in the games
2) Dolphins are going to be the second best team in the AFC West again, but definitely moving in the right direction.
3) Seattle been to the dance and this year won't make it back due to a heartbreaker in the playoffs.
4) Dallas will face their worst nightmare in a deflated Dez letdown. Even though they have an O-Line that is the equivalent to a police escort down a highway, their RBs will not get 1000 yds due to injuries.
5) Table for Cutler, party of 1.

Draft Breakdown
1) 49ers 2-14
2) Saints 3-13
3) JETS 4-12
4) Browns 4-12
5) UnBearable 5-11
6) Washington 5-11
7) Titans 6-10

Only team that I care about is the GIANTS and they are a underrated contender and they need to pay Eli.
Honestly I can see the Jaguars and Raiders being frisky teams this season I mean they aren't that good but they both have future superstar QBs so that is enough to give them some wins.

Aaron Rodgers as Stephen A Smith would say is a BAD MAN so they should go all the way if the giants don't beat them

The Seahawks are screwed because everyone is getting money hungry and it's causing core guys to leave the team I mean if they had golden Tate last year I bet he would of made that catch at the goaline

oh come on now... they picked up graham from the saints. the problem is that everyone knows the seahawks gameplan now. and their gameplan is contemplating retirement and isn't any younger despite still being a beast out of the backfield. As soon as they lose Lynch they drop out of the playoff contention until they find a new QB or a new Beast of a RB.

Giants only chance at going anywhere this season is in Odell and Cruz staying healthy. lose one and the team loses

High hopes for me and the Vikings this year. Their off season losses were actually players that it was time to let go. new additions at CB Newman and Waynes should improve the core in the pass happy NFC north, Kendricks ILB with Greenway and Barr is another nice think I like along with the middle of the D-line. Wr Wallace coming in will help the team have a multiple 2 way attack with a now secured happy A.P.

Biggest Questions - Khalil was the knee proceedure succesfull? and will he be set to be a team asset? Teddy - no sophmore jinx please..... and finally the Stadium??????????????

My prediction Bad - 9-7 good 11-5

Stadium is on schedule to open next year. Vikings will be the team to beat this year or next for many seasons. Zimmer, Turner and the GM are making all the right moves.

Go Vikes!

My Team, also.

Never been a Chi-Town Bears fan, tho born there. I was Southsiiide, all the way; Cubbies & Bears were Northside.
A funky team named the Chicago Cardinals called Soldiers' Field by the Lake - Michigan - home when I was a 'lil tyke, eH?
Cutler asa Leader??? (Baaah!)

"Yo, Adrian!" Get on your horse! (An interesting story developing here.)
Kendricks really looks dominant, another find by Zimmer/Spielmann. IF (Biiig IF) Anthony Barr can start the season healthy, then we will be awesome vs. the Run. Include Gerald Hodges, who has developed.
Zimmer needs to work his 'secondary magic' on Waynes, who is very, very raw right now. He is getting beat too much for his talent. CB Xavier Rhodes excelled under Mike's tutelage last year. Who will line up @ Safety with 'BaadAss' Harrison Smith, Notre Dame alum? Antone Exum looked Aggressive so far in pre-season.

The D Line actually is shaping up with recent draftees & trades.

On the O side of the ball:
We ALL luv Teddy!
Loadholt at RT wasn't all that goode anyhow, eH? (All he was was Fat!) Pickup Harris helped to salvage the line the last 5 games last season. They like his transfer to RG. Tyme to 'Step Up' Rookie RT TJ Clemmings! (Show us wat ya got, eH?)
ADrian, I have Your back. You were raised in a radical East Texas 'RedNeck Way'. It is Really NOT Your fault. Be a 'Freighttrain' like Only You can, BUTT, "Keep Your Biiig Mouth SHut!" in the lockeroom.
MY major concern is whatever happened to our #1 pick LT? (Why is Kahlil sooo lost, eH?)
Our WR corps will be scrutinized. Who will stand out?! Cordarelle, I am looking at You! Mike Wallace, are You another 'Prima Donna" or a Performer???! We also hava 'Hidden Gem' (whose name I can't recall, something like a #5) who is burning up the turf on Punt Returns.
TEs: Kyle Rudolph, Are You a big Pu$$y?! (2 other guys look better than this inflated ego.)

"That's a Rap!"

J Winston for Tampa Bay?

He didn't look like $hit vs. the MN Vikings.

BUTT, it's Reeealy early, too early to judge. I will Wait-and-see.
He reminded me of RGIII for Washington Redskins, my Bro's football team. (NOT a goode comparison, btw.)

I was not happy with the J. Winston pick for the Buccs... wouldn't have liked it any better if they took Mariota either, Tennessee is looking for the next Russell Wilson (News flash!!!! Wilson is only good because the defense has to focus on beast mode) Winston i am not sure is a true upgrade from what they had. AAAAANNNNNNDDDDD they still can't run the ball, bring in another high draft pick!
