Fans of the Toledo Tigers are in mourning today as their dream of a nondefeated season came to an end in the last quarter of the last game against Montreal Killer Hippos when Tiger QB Bill Cunningham completed a 1 yard pass to WR John Brodie to take the lead 24 -21 with 1:07 left to go in the game.
When Coach Dewey Givafuche was asked about the play, he simply replied that wasn't how he designed it. He stated that he did everything he could think of to insure a perfect 0-16 season, getting sacked 5 times, throwing 3 INT, and losing 2 fumbles.
"When you play lousy football like that, you pretty much can guarantee a mark in the loss column, not the other way around," Coach Givafuche said. "Needless to say I am VERY disappointed with today's outcome. But on the bright side, we do have the first overall pick in this year's draft which might be traded to the right purchaser for the right price."
Anyways, fans of this Bizarro World team have another season to wait before they can bring out their terrible towels.
