Post Game Press Conference

Patton and the coach of Miami Monsoon took the stage after their game yesterday and the first question asked was of the young rookie QB.
How does it feel to win your first game in the FHFL?
It feels great man, I hope I can help the team win a lot more down the road
You seem to have been asked to carry a pretty hefty load in the game, is that something that we will see regularly this season/
I go out there and play the game according to coach's gameplan and guidance. I would hope that the pressure wouldn't have to be on me every game though
coach, you earned your first win in the league today against a very tough team that historically this franchise has struggled against. What did you do differently than the last guy?
I don't really know what the last guy did or how he did it. I know that he built the majority of this team and he developed them and led to them to a playoff appearance last season so he was very good. I hope that I can do better
The decision to play Patton over Grayson in today's game surprised a lot of people, why did you make that decision?
Patton did everything he needed to to earn the starter role and at the end of preseason I sat them both down and explained what my plan for the QB position entailed. I made a coach's call, and it was a tough one
With that the duo thanked the media for their time and headed back to the locker room to get ready for their next opponent.

Miami and QB Doug Patton met their next opponent and it was not was expected. Even though Patton threw for 308 yds the defense was tough, he threw 4 picks, which 2 ended in touchdowns for the dawgs.
One was returned for a touchdown and another was deep in their own end of field which made the touchdown easier.
Coach Benard said it was a priority in game planning to stop QB Patton and they came through.
BTW: Coach wants to let everyone to know, including Colt, if you want to pass on us, expect it too be tough going.

Steve met with the press briefly after the game today and said that Patton was not going to be meeting with the press as he was in a bad state of mind after being completely dominated by the Dawgs defense in the game today. Steve also acknowledged that Patton would no longer be starting for the Monsoon as an agreement with Seattle has been reached and Miami brought in veteran star QB Porter to take the helm of the offense and bring the leadership and talent that is missing to push this team over the edge.
"The Dawgs proved today that our offense under Patton was not as strong as the first game alluded to. Patton is still young and has a lot of development yet but will one day get his chance again as the starter for this team. However, with the recent trade and Porter coming to this offense, we have the goal in mind of the Sim Bowl this year and made the trade to make that happen. We hope that Porter can go out on the field and make things happen and put this team into the next level of elite teams for this league"

Porter was interviewed after the game today.
Clarence, how do you feel after having one of the best games of your career as a debut with a new team?
I am just happy to be out on the field you know. It's great to be given the go ahead to take control of a game and the coaches have a gameplan that allows myself and the offense create some big plays and put points on the board
Do you think that the move to Miami will improve your career overall as a franchise QB?
You know, I just go out there and do what I can to help the team get the win and every player that has ever stepped foot on the field has aspirations of being in the hall of fame one day. But it doesn't matter what uniform I wear, I am just glad to be playing ball and winning games.
As Porter was thanked and made his way to the lockerrooms the reporter turned back to the camera.
It's not uncommon for a QB going to a new team and struggling for the first couple days while he learns the gameplan and builds a relationship with his teammates in timing of routes and everything, but the coaching staff did a phenomenal job of recognizing that Porter would fit into their system without very little issue and it showed today. Throwing for 1 INT and 5 TDs with 438 yards passing and a 130.8 QBR Porter has once again added a spark to this Miami team. With him taking the snaps behind center the under recognized WR Pitts had an amazing game as well. It looks like the staff of this team has finally got the team that they think will get them to the big game and maybe bring home that championship ring.

I am excited. This is the first time since taking over the franchise that I have had all the pieces to make my gameplan work and have the potential to make some real noise. It is going to be a fun season for me :)
