OK you great group of outstanding citizens! I have a dilemma that I would like some input from other owners on. I traded for Indiana Smith because I NE refused to give me the first overall pick (grudge being held until I sack him 8 times in our match this season) and through three games he has posted a 59.0 QBR, 50% completion, 237 yards and 2 INT to 1 TD. Horrible stats for the projected starter for preseason games where he isn't even facing the best teams have to offer.July 13, 2015 at 02:28PM View BBCode
How are you playing Smith? He's definitely a YAC kind of guy. You also gotta consider Abdul is probably not playing other people's first string defense. If you're like most people, you're playing Abdul in the second half just as the opposing team pulls their starting D. I've played the first string through all my preseason games but it was because I needed data to evaluate my aging roster and ended up loosing a CB to injury-- something most people are trying to avoid (remember how Paige Wingate was out for over a month two seasons ago with an ACL he got on the first snap of the first preseason game in 82?)July 13, 2015 at 03:10PM View BBCode
I glanced at the box score. I think benching Smith is a mistake. Any QB can get lucky, but I see wide passes, incomplete drives, good running which is kind of carrying you and some great receivers catching short/med passes for a lot of YAC which is where most of Abdul's yards are coming from and that has a lot more to do with accuracy than power. Smith should be your guy. If you've only played him for half of the game you're gambling an untested inaccurate QB who threw what amounts to two full games over a QB who played a really great season last year and barely missed the playoffs.July 13, 2015 at 03:17PM View BBCode
fair enough. Thanks for the input. In other news, you should check on the Virginia Vendeval's QB's game today (jim brown league). Halftime just hit and he is already at 347 yards passing with 3 TD'sJuly 13, 2015 at 05:14PM View BBCode
Smith is horrible! I'll give you a 4th rounder for him. :lol:July 13, 2015 at 05:34PM View BBCode
Michael Gray is a great quarterback. If anything I'd be deciding amongst the two of them rather than the rookieJuly 13, 2015 at 05:38PM View BBCode
It's Preseason. You can count on stats being all over the place weird. You go with the best QB and save the rookie for later. You start Abdul in a in-season game and he's going to get destroyed, barring he's playing a really terrible Defense. And even then.July 13, 2015 at 05:40PM View formatted

yea, gray's time behind center for Miami is over. he is on the tradeblock and can probably be had for fairly cheapJuly 16, 2015 at 04:31PM View BBCode
Vonjoho - This is why you can disregard what happens in the pre-season (from another league I am in):July 16, 2015 at 06:09PM View BBCode
Well, i stuck with Smith out of the gate, and to this point in the season he is one of the top QBs. Montreal is hurting his rating and yards but he is still maintaining fairly strong numbers consideringJuly 17, 2015 at 11:17PM View BBCode
