Health and Endurance Penalty for Pitchers
June 27, 2015 at 02:58AM View BBCode
Just want to double check a few things...
How does a pitcher get a health deduction in the OS?
(overuse under 28, right?)
How does a pitcher get an endurance deduction in the OS?
(not starting at least 25% of their games if they're B- endurance or higher?)
Thanks...

Subtle but very important note: it's
more than 25%. If your guy pitches 60 games and starts 15 he will get an endurance deduction. But he won't if it's 59 games and starts 15.
Yes on B- (assuming you meant to say "lower" instead of "higher"). C+ endurance guys will not be penalized no matter what.

Todd, you are correct.
Overuse = 100+ innings for RP's or 200+ innings for SP's.

So following up on this... The goal is to have a young starting pitcher get 199 innings with 25% of his appearances being games started...?

More than 25% as Bahston said. At exactly 25%, he will get the endurance penalty.

25%+1, not 25%, but yes, unless you play in a system 2 health league in which case don't worry about the innings just the 25%+1 .

With that said, I wouldn't worry about health. I'd rather have 1 extra IC and lose a chunk of health than not have the extra IC and preserve health.
I do watch endurance and make sure my starters get MORE than 25% appearances as starts.

The endurance penalty is for every aged pitcher or just those under age 28?
