Why is every minor leaguer $0.25M?

The players with options, that used to start at $0.05M, are now $0.25M. That is absolutely ridiculous!

I think it is something that is being tested as part of this:

No league would ever use those settings...why test with something unrealistic?

Lots of players in pay salary leagues have complained that they don't have fair access to the $.05M so this is a compromise proposal, and I think quite realistic. Just as I was leaving the AML a proposal I had spearheaded to not count the salaries of players in the minors with options against the cap was being instituted, not sure if/how it worked out but that's the real solution.
Minor league salaries for players with options should only count if they are on the major league roster .

That $0.25 minimum salary is too high. I can't see any league adopting it.
It seems like it would make far more sense to change the time that the league date advances to 4/1. Have the league agree to a time that works for everyone, and make the change.
The KBL adopted the rule to not count minor leaguers against the cap...but owners grew tired of making manual adjustments and policing the rosters. Thus, we raised the cap to $85M.

I am not in a regular salary league but I think I agree with TwoRoosters, if you are going for realism then this would be closer than picking up $0.05 stiffs to fill a roster requirement.
It would also make sense for players in the bigs to only count toward a salary cap (the minors would be like the NFL's practice squad), but it seems to me it would get complicated if a player gets promoted and their salary hits the cap number, and is it pro rated or when does it vest.
I can imagine there would be a scramble for those stiffs that serve no real purpose except to be a warm body filling a spot, this way it seems like it is tougher to game the game in my somewhat uneducated opinion and maybe evens the playing field a bit more...

Oh yeah, it was the KBL .........the AML was a whole different kettle of fish.

Raising the cap is fine but guys are just going to use that extra $5M to bid on free agents, the idea of minor league salaries counting against the cap is just wrong and should be able to be monitored by ABE.
