Most Seasons With 162+ RBI?

So this beast Walter Phillips drove in more than RBI than games in a season for the THIRD time in his career! Anyone know who did it the most times?

This guy did it 4 times:

looks like Phillips finally learned how to hit that AL pitching!
i don't think i've ever had a guy top 138. Can't check the leagues I've left though.

sure you can. all you need is the league number. open up your league leaders page. then go the board, if you don't know the league number, open up the standings for the league you want to know about. the league name is right there. put that number on your league leaders page where your league number is. you might have to hit the go to button, or put your cursor on it and it lights up and press enter, and you get this

that's the Jackie robinson league (which I have never played in, I understand it was or is a fine league) then you can select rbi and single season, and hit enter, and you will find that there have been 10 seasons in total where a player tallied 162 or more rbi, and you will also note that a code bit named jerry mead did it twice, in 1970 and 1971

in the gnl (my league) it has been done 13 different times, with Bert Mountain appearing there three times, and another player twice

(the topindustry thing is what I use at work, its work exactly the same with the simdynasty pointer. this will not of course get you any closer to finding out the answer on a global scale. admin give you a data dump, usually, if you ask nicely.)

By the way, Phillips' 169 mark last season broke the league record of 168 set 54 years earlier.

http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=348035 Duke Snider of the Larry Doby League had consecutive seasons of 178,182,167 and the previous season just missed with 161.

The most RBI's that I've ever had from a player in a single season is 189, from Marlin DeRosa of the Catfish Hunter League in the opening season of the league (1950).
That's what you can do with red letter health, good power, and a .393 OPB which is actually LESS than the OBP of the three guys hitting in front of you. :) It was a fun season.

The MVP went to this guy who led the league in pretty much everything except RBI's. :) There wasn't much pitching in the NL that season.
