Hall of Fame

Anyone know what happened to the TRL Hall of Fame? Haven't seen anything on it for quite awhile now.

I think the former Baltimore owner just sort of gave up on running it over a year ago, but didn't announce he was giving up on it, which maybe would have spurred someone else to fill the void.

Nonetheless, the last Hall of Fame post here, was 2002's class...

Yeah right, it was Deap Threat. Died when he left I guess.

I think that would be awesome if you wanted to step up and take care of it Chicago. I don't know exactly what the mechanics are either but I don't think it's a whole lot. You'll need to get set up to access the HOF to update, probably form Commish.

The rest I think you could do pretty much however you like. I've seen a number of different variations. It just takes time gathering the info you need to put a list of candidates together, and time to process the voting, and more time to horsewhip guys to actually vote :)

You could just follow what Deap Threat was doing until you develop something else you like better. I'm sure there must be some experience here familiar with the process.

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
The thing is- is that we have to evaluate players who retired after the 2002 season through the end of the 2009 season-that is 8 years of going through all the retired players. Perhaps we could break it down into 2 parts,2002-2005 and then 2006-2009. But another idea would be to have each team's owner check their retired players and nominate who they truly think is worthy of the HOF. So if you want a player from your franchise to be in the HOF, you have to make the effort to do some research and nominate him. We still could do it in 2 parts or all 8 years at once, although that would require evaluating a lot of players at one time.

Chances are that there will be some owners who do not make the effort- in that case I would be willing with someone else to evaluate the players on those teams and nominate them. If we get this off the ground, it would be helpful to check out the players who are already in the HOF and their statistics so we have some sort of standard to go by.

I think if owners send in nominees, it might help with your process a bit. Not everyone will comply, but a little less work would probably be helpful.

Only problem is - you will get duplication of effort on players who split a HOF career with two teams - a Mike Bryant for example.

Also, you could compare the HOF listing to the All-time leaders listing to make sure we are consistent.

I will work on Gothams - and given my love of rental players late in their careers, I should have quite a few..
