Do days off in the schedule give players a rest?

I was under the impression that if your team has a day off, all the player's health bars reset. That didn't happen for my team though, so I'm wondering if something changed, or if there was a glitch, or if I just thought wrong.

Days that your team has off during the regular season do not impact hitters, they only get "rest" when they are not in the starting lineup:

But in the playoffs, the days off during the travel days do reset hitters health...

It's silly because of the inconsistency.

However if you bench a guy for a game, and he comes in as a PH or sub, he'll be completely revived for the next game. I've managed to get some high health players 162 GP this way.
