WHEN the Buffs win the NLCS, can he be replaced on the roster for the World Series. It does seem a bit unfair that a team's best player goes down, and he cannot even be replaced on the roster for the current series.
It is allowed in the major leagues.

The Colorado Buffaloes just lost 1B Quinn Sommer for 12 days and that theoretically is for all of the playoffs.WHEN the Buffs win the NLCS, can he be replaced on the roster for the World Series. I think that was a pretty recent enhancement in MLB, right? that you can replace a guy on the roster mid-series? they probably stopped enhancing the Sim before that happened, so my guess is that's why we don't have it.

MLB has allowed disabled players to be replaced during a playoff series at least since the 1970s, just ask [url=http://athletics.scout.com/story/683126-oakland-a-s-history-finley-fires-andrews]Mike Andrews[/url].

Wow, I never knew that story. Finley made George Steinbrenner look like a saint.

I think the rule was changed BECAUSE of the Mike Andrews situation, at least during World Series play. Not sure if it's been rescinded or not; I think it has been.

I can't find any info regarding a rule change as a result of the Andrews situation.

MLB allows players to be placed on the DL during a series and replaced, however the plyer placed on the DL may not return either during the current series, [b]or the next series[/b]. So a player placed on the DL during a divisional series could come back and be activated for the World Series but a player placed on the DL in a Championship series could not.
I can't find any info regarding a rule change as a result of the Andrews situation.
