Substitution settings

There is now a Substitutions page under Depth Charts that allows you to adjust some substitution settings. On this page you can:
- Set the default Sub In/Sub Out settings for all charts that are set to Use Defaults
- Set which quarter backups come in for the preseason, individually for Offense and Defense. If you only want them in for one quarter, set it to Fourth. If you want your starters to play the whole game, set it to Never. If you don't want your starters to risk the injury, set it to First. (Your starters may play a single play, then the backups will come in.)
- Set the scores at which you put in backups during a blowout. This will only ever happen in the 4th quarter, and not in postseason games.
From this page, you can also adjust and depth chart specific settings for depth charts that are set to anything other than "Use default". For the specific depth chart settings, setting the blowout scores to 0 will use the defaults, not actually a score of 0.
I am not 100% sure that the individual depth chart settings for quarter/score substitutions are hooked up in the game engine yet but everything else should work.

Thank you... I need to fix the U2U link colors... other than that, if you see any weirdness with unusual browsers please let me know. It should look right in most browsers; it will fail in IE 6 but I think I can finally let that ship sail rather than try to work around it.
It tries to detect if JavaScript is available; if it is, it removes the Submit button for the team change and just loads the new team the moment you select it. Time to start making the site behave in a modern fashion!

I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it but it's a great feature.

I don't think the substitution settings are working. Mine were set to sub out at winning by 28 pts. My backup QB never saw a snap and I won 62-0.

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
Looks like your backup QB was injured; with no other QB's on your active roster it stayed with your starter. It did go to your backups in other positions. (Note that the blowout settings only apply in the 4th quarter.)

Could we add a line to this like:
'start recievers w/ highest HANDS value in inclement weather'?

With so many things to get done and being two weeks behind on release, I am simplifying this feature.
You can still specify blowout and preseason substitution defaults, and manage all of your Sub In and Sub Out settings on one page, but you will not be able to set individual preseason/blowout settings for each role. There are some technical complications to make these work right that I am going to have to save for the next round, but it is still a big improvement over what we had.
