Frank Pastore Starting Pitcher for the Washington Wilverines throws a No-Hitter against the Kansas City Athletics in front of the home crowd. The 1-0 victory knocked the Wilverines magic number to clinch second place down to just 9.
Frank said "It felt great out there on the mound today, but what really matters is winning it all. Hopefully we can make the playoffs and then win again. The guys were making good plays behind me as well. When we needed a double play in the 7th we got one." Catcher Ben Zirkle stated that Frank was hitting his spots and didn't shake him off the whole game. The one run today was provided by lead-off hitter Hal Mitchell with a 406 foot shot to left-centerfield to lead off the 6th inning. Hal commented "I was just glad we won the game today. It was a close one."
