New Dynasty Vision feature: Resting players displayed

March 20, 2014 at 08:38PM View BBCode

I have added a new Dynasty Vision feature: Players who are unavailable due to either being tired or temporary injury now have their energy bars appear as yellow instead of green. This only happens for quarters that were played after the feature was installed; for example, in Beta Premium Regular Season Week 1, you start seeing this information in the 4th quarter.

"Tired" is of course relative; if you have your settings set to Sub Out at 80% and Sub In at 95% (which seems to have become everyone's "go to" setting) you may (well, should) have perfectly fresh players marked as "tired" all the time. Perhaps players aren't tiring fast enough or recover too fast, which is why this setting has become near-universal, but there has been no way for you to tell (or for me to tell without poring through logs) whether or not players are in "resting" mode or not.

Players start "resting" when one of the following things happens:

- A formation in which they might appear is called for, but when the code looks to see if they are available they are at or below the "sub out" setting
- They are injured
- They are "shaken up".

They go off Resting when one of the following happens:

- Their energy level recovers to the "Sub In" setting
- Their energy level recovers to their Conditioning level
- There are absolutely no other players available
- The quarter ends (this one is not "by design", I may need to fix this)

Please take a look at this and let me know if you see any issues. For Zeta, this won't start until the Conference Playoffs start so you'll have to look at 4Q of Beta Premium.

so with that setting of 80 out 95 in...

1. a player with pregame conditioning of 78% will not play at all

2. a player with pregame conditioning of 85% will play, get subbed out when below 80%, then never get back in again b/c his highest level is only 85 instead of the 95 required to be subbed back in

is this correct?

They may play if all other players at their position (or who can play that position well) are resting or injured, but they won't start. The likelihood, though, is that they will not play.

They will sub back in when their energy level recovers to their Conditioning level, as noted above.

This is fixed. Player will recover the appropriate amount of energy for sitting for two or twelve minutes, but if they still have not recovered to their Sub In setting or Conditioning level they will stay on rest. This will likely only ever affect players with temporary in-game injuries.
