Catcher is probably the most difficult position to evaluate fairly for the Hall of Fame. Catchers tend not to play as much, or be as productive offensively as other position players. Therefore, they rarely lead the league in any offensive categories. Defensively, the best catchers might not have the best Caught Stealing percentage because base runners don't run on them. Only the elite runners take off. Statistically, defense was not kept before 1965 so many early catchers have incomplete stats. Thus, they don't show their weak early years. Do you reward the multi-all star or the good catcher who had longevity? Interesting decision.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if none get in.
Right now, we have only 1 current Hall of Famer. In my opinion, he is the only clear cut choice. We do have a few very good catchers active at this time or just recently retired.
Remember to vote for anyone you feel is Hall of Fame Worthy
2/3 vote to elect
2 or more votes the candidate will be held over for next year's election
Deadline: Sunday, March 9th
