Defensive struggle

January 14, 2014 at 10:32PM View BBCode

That was quite the defensive struggle Providence and Green Bay had in week 1 of the season. 45-35 Green Bay win.
-940 yards of total offense for both teams.
- Green Bay racked up 335 yards Rushing!!!!!
-Marty Luck had 199 yards rushing on 22 carries.
-Providence had 354 yards passing.

What a great game for viewers on TV. Wouldn't have been boring that's for sure.

335 rushing yards in this league is impressive. I would think thats gotta be a record. SD has always been skewed to the pass but it seems like thats changing now, I like it.

I just took a look at my game, Steve Hinkle accounted for 286 total yards and 2 TDīs today including 162 in the return game. Heīs turned into a nice player.

Glad you boys are doing good! In the 3rd quarter, I went from a 1st and 10 to a 2nd and 33, all as a result of penalty after penalty against my team. Damn!

That happens a lot, how many times have you seen this? Penalty-sack-penalty, 3rd and 32. I mean it does happen in real life but it seems to happen more in SD. You have to be careful though, sometimes things seem like they are happening excessively but it's just the speed at which we see the seasons unfold. One SD week is equal to almost 2 months in the NFL so it can seem worse than it really is. Either way it is very annoying. Especially when it takes you out of scoring position.

Ordinarily I would agree with this, but a lot of work was done on penalties in this cycle, so if you think you see something excessive, feel free to post a game link in Support and I will check it out.
