Wasted Potential?

I'm starting to feel like I wasted this guy, QB Jeff Blake. He did win a championship a few years ago, and his QB rating has gotten better in the last few years, but I just noticed he's 29.
If he'd played for Pittsburgh, he'd be an All-Timer by now. I kind of feel bad. Blake probably should have been one of the best ever.
Anyone have a player they feel that should have succeeded far more and didn't, either because of mishandling on their part or AFE interference (injuries, lack of Improves, ect?)

Haven't been here long enough to waste a guy yet robot. LOL. Do think I may have a couple hall of famers here if they play long enough though. Ed Szott for instance. Hoping to get it together enough to be in playoffs consistently though. That is my goal. :)

I (SAS) can't say it is wasted potential but I traded for Bill Drummand an "A" running back who I felt was under utilized in Oakland and would benefit from being on a team that runs more than most other teams. He just got benched. only avg. 3.6 yards a carry and 13.7 carries a game. I'm hoping this is not a bust, but if he doesn't improve, this could be one of the worst(Sas)/best(Oak) trades in league history. I gave up Bill Sternaman ,who seems to be having a very nice season with Oakland and is only 24 years old. :puzzled:

I have a RB exactly like Drummond. I don't want to give pointers to a division rival, but I'll say this: I had to accept my RB Martin was never going to be a 15-20 carry between-the-Tackle beast. I had to think in terms of real-life RBs like Reggie Bush and Dex McCluster and Danny Woodhead.
I think Sternaman is going to be very good, used right, but what the hey. You take your chances, and trades for potential studs don't happen unless you give up something good.

Sternaman has performed well when he's not hurt. But he just got injured for the 3rd time this season! My backup QB, Winston, will end up with a lot more playing time.
I've never had a HB, aside from the short time I had Drummond, with that great combination of Carrying, Execution, Speed, Agility and BreakTackle. I suspect he's the sort who will get a bunch of carries of 1 to 5 yards, but bust open some really long runs every now and then. I wouldn't bench him, but I know it can be frustrating when he doesn't perform. He did have seasons with Toronto in which he averaged 4.7 and 5.2 yards per carry.

I was certainly hoping Drummond would be better and who knows maybe he is just having an off year. I've seen it happen in these Sim games. For now Mack Strong has won the starting job, avg 4.9 yards per carry.
