Looks like Brooklyn has the power. I'd like to see it get started again. The all-time HR leader retired a couple years ago from my squad, so I wouldn't mind enshrining him too. Anyone else up for getting this going?

I built a list a few years back of guys who should have ANY consideration. Obviously not all of those would get in. The problem is it has been MANY years since anyone was admitted, so there are several players who are probably worthy.

Probably should do a vote...like the real HOF. In the Ken Griffey Jr. League we have a vote every season. 70% of voters required to get in.I built a list a few years back of guys who should have ANY consideration. Catcher is EXTREMELY tough, no one stands out a great deal but the one HOFer. There won't be very many catchers in the hall if they are held to the same standard.
Suggestion:
Fill our ballot this year...if not on ballot they are out. Anybody nominated is on the first ballot. I will be glad to write up a summary on each.
Annual Election - 2/3rds of voters needed to elect.
Normally limit of up to 10 votes per voter. First two years extend that to 20.
After 2nd vote, anyone not receiving two votes is off the ballot.

That's a huge list, does anyone think we'll have better luck breaking it up into smaller pieces to begin with? At least until we get caught up. Thanks to Santo for getting us started.

We could do a series of votes....
Pre-1990 retirees (which we could really get a smaller list)
all of those with less than 2 votes are out
Then retirees from 1990-1994 added to the ballot, vote again.
All of those with less than 2 votes are out
1995-1999 retirees added, then vote again.
Then go up to date.
(The original list could be more comprehensive and then we could really do a good job, not sure if everyone would want to put that much into it. I don't mind writing up a summary on nominations.)

I think all three are better than not having anyone in the Hall. I can go along with any of them. We are behind the eight ball a bit because of number of legitimate candidates. It will be a challenge anyway we do it.
Personally, I like #2 best because it would come closest to resembling actual HOF voting. However, #1 is the easiest because it only requires 1 vote. #3 requires the most votes, but probably will get the best representation in the Hall.
Since we are very much behind....we could use a 5 Year Retirement Rule...so only players who have been retired by 1999 would be eligible. That would cut down a few candidates...such as Gary Moore would have to wait a few years.

Just for a comparison the Ken Griffey Jr. League is in season 2013. They have an active HOF and I would consider fair, but somewhat restrictive entry. They have 80 members in the Hall. 63 seasons has yielded 80 for 1.2+ per season.
Our league has been around 9 years less. We only have 27 members. So we have been around 54 years and at 1.2 per season...we would have 65 members. (That is assuming near the same election rate). That means we are in the neighborhood of having 38 eligible people who would get voted in. That is why this task is so daunting. No one has been elected in the last 18 years, and only 6 have been elected in the last 29. (In the list I provided above I would honestly vote for a minimum of 25 of them...likely many more)

I would prefer #2 or#3, but it might be easier to do it all in one vote with the interest we seem to be receiving. Might a HoF committee be in order to weed out some of the more non-deserving ones, though at this point I don't know that it won't still be a large list.
