Football Advice Sucks

April 09, 2013 at 06:27AM View BBCode

I have noticed that posting and in this forum leads to only 4 outcomes. I'll list them in order of probability..... You are ignored, nobody responds. You think about posting but don't because nobody responds in time. You get a response but it is too late to help you. You get a response in time and use the incite to help make a decision. Baseball is worlds better message board wise....

This function/response needs to tighten up..... We are all to blame.

Take a minute to have an opinion people.

well, I -and probably others too- don't check this board as often as the league's forum.
Also, the "trade advice" posts are a bit weird since they're automatically generated and -this has happened to me- you can post it by accident, since it's not clear what will happen if you click that link (don't remember the word) on the proposed trade.

But you're totally right.
Also, the less activity in the forum the less likely someone dares to say something, since you feel all the spotlights on yourself.

I found that in baseball too. Especially in speed leagues.

i don't know it's that so much as that football is so much less cut and dry than baseball. evaluating trades in baseball is pretty easy. player A has X attributes therefore he should be worth assets of types Y and Z. or something like that. football does not work that way at all. there are more ways to value players, and more differing opinions on the value of roster depth, playing people out of position, im portance of diffrent positions and skills and so on. i find it really hard to give advice on trades in football because my own player evaluations seem to be so different than most other people's. the other thing is that football rosters have more moving parts. it just takes longer to give advice in football and that can be a factor for people with limited time to give.

Yea, you don't value execution or potential very highly and others do. And yet, in spite of contrasting opinions, both have good success.
