Crazy way to lose a no-hitter

I don't believe I've ever seen a 9th inning go like this with a pitcher carrying a no-hitter.

Keep in mind my team is loaded with young barely-prospects in the lineup, so offensive output is not to be expected from these guys.

Back to back to back home runs is a horrible way to break up a no-no. I didn't save the game so no box score to show but I had one broken up in the ninth with a walk-walk-home run. Also resulted in losing 3-1.

i have to disagree. as a long-time blue jays fan, i remember when dave steib lost no-hitters with two outs in the ninth in back to back starts. the first one was in municipal stadium in cleveland when a routine ground ball to second (from julio franco, i think) hit a rut and bounced over manny lee's head for a single. the next start against baltimore it was a broken bat single (jim traeber?) just over fred mcgriff's glove. if it were me i'd rather have the home runs. at least the hitter earned those.

Roy Halladay lost a no hitter in his second career start on a solo homer with two out in the ninth against the Tigers on the final day of the 1998 season .

The homer was hit by pinch hitter Bobby Higginson, who had an 0-2 count on him, and the ball was caught in the bullpen by none other than Dave Stieb.

I watched then game on television and remember feeling just awful when Higginson hit the homer, he swung at a slider on the outside corner and hit it out to the opposite field. It was a cool broadcast because CBC was broadcasting the game and the announcers didn't make any comments during the ninth just let the crowd noise be heard, until Higginson's homer.

I remember that one too. I remember thinking that pinch hitting in the 9th against a no-no was kind of offside.
