I mean, he's 41-3 now, but time will tell. I've never seen a GM use this strategy, but I think it's pretty awesome.

Yes. The fix that admin is woking on to stop this crap!
They aren't real wins. Let me guess...this comes in first out of the pen as soon as the SP gets pinch hit for in it's first at-bat? It then pitches a couple innings and gets the win, even thought it doesn't deserve it 9 times out of 10. It then takes the CYA from more deserving pitchers because the wins stat is factored in too much in the CYA formula.

shrug. a bunch of wins the starters get aren't very meaningful either. they give up a bunch of hits and runs and the hitters outscore the other team.
(50 wins isn't awesome. neither is 20. or zero. giving credit to pitchers for wins is ultimately dumb. but something has to get the credit for them. it isn't the dumbest stat there is. nothing can knock saves off that pinnacle.)

(this fix i haven't heard about i suppose is something to make relievers less effective huh? they are the red headed step children of this website, they always get the shaft.
you know what fix nobody will ever clamor for? a fix to make youngish starting pitchers pay the price for pitching 225+ innings every season for five or six seasons or more. thats fine with everybody.
and they get better. every.......single........one.....of......them...gets...better....as a result of thise abuse. but nobody cares. you know what they call these pitchers in real life? coaches. or insurance salesmen. something, anything other than pitchers, because they're finished.)

That's why I like system 4 injuries, then when the young pitchers go over 199 2/3 they lose health, and when they lose health they start to get hurt........ a lot, not as much as real life but enough to make it a concern.
But yeah in leagues with default injury settings the pitcher health thing is a joke.

I enjoyed being in a league with maximum injuries ... and then people got sick of them and voted to dial it back to the normal silly.
I have been advocating for years that to make this game more realistic, sometimes you need to have guys suffer potential career-ending or -altering injuries.
It has been pointed out, however, that this would cost us paying customers who will get mad that the stud they drafted is gone three years later.
I would counter that the game gets repetitive with predictable improvements, and that probably costs customers, too. I know the private leagues do not fill like they used to.

Yes, that. SD is afraid to take risks and instead is slowly shrinking. I love me some Nintendo injuries.
I just discovered that other thread when we talked about it http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=349433&page=1
I guess this became a thing while I was away, an exploit that hadn't gotten a lot of press before.

It's his 9th career injury, though only six of the nine have been more than 15 days, and he's only missed 197 days in total, or just over one full season.
