Nobody said a word when I took this team,with a roster that couldn't compete at a double A level, now when I get a chance to land a few players, ....... You get my drift......I'm not posting this to have a discussion and it will be my last post on it. I paid,I'll play my team to get to the top.Good luck to all

Teams can do whatever they want. Looks like the bottom 3 teams are all trying to pick up the number 1 pick in the draft. More wins for the rest of us :)

I wouldn't be mad at SF or any of the other teams in the bottom tier that are resting regulars, they're now competing for that #1 pick. And if that #1 pick is a difference maker like Shuster is, and you aim to be a winner in the long haul, you would be foolish not to. Again, it's rebuilding. You're sacrificing short term for long term gain.
I think directing the ire at any of the teams in their position is misplaced, don't you? Don't you think it is more about a system that is so clearly geared towards competitive imbalance? Do I like the concept of tanking? No, not at all. But in all of my Dynasty League seasons I rarely see league-wide parity. Usually a Dynasty League season plays out like a cake of disappointment; competitive teams clearly the icing on top, and everyone else the cake below. Hypothetically, if there are 3 or 4 teams fighting it out in the AL, that usually means there is depleted talent in the NL. Because of hard draft positions and development cycles, talent moves in waves through the Dynasty Leagues.
If we want to end tanking in Dynasty Leagues, the draft should be a lottery. The biggest losers should have highest chance of winning the #1, but nothing should be assured. I think that would prevent much of what is perceived as tanking.
I'm in a Salary League and there is 0 tanking. Why? Not because the guys are more noble, but because you are incentivized to always compete. There are no CP's, so everyone in your minors develops at the same rate. So there are more, better players. Then Prestige score plays into free agent signing, so if your team is a perennial loser, players are way less likely to sign with you. And if they do, you have to spend way more. Likewise, no one is incentivized to lose for the draft because all players because free agents after they are OS28.
My point is, it's not about owners being better or worse people, it's about a system that erases tanking as a competitive measure.

I don't think anyone should be mad at eachother about tanking in Dynasty Leagues. Don't you feel like the game play in Dynasty Leagues is structured in a way that it indirectly supports tanking? If not, why would anyone rebuild? Rebuilding is tanking, you're selling off veterans for prospects and willingly putting your team in a losing position in the short term for long term gain. So why is it any different in this circumstance?

Tanking/rebuilding, whatever you want to call it does suck. But as Steve says it's an unfortunate part of SDL. I've been playing this game for nearly a decade now (time flies) and it has always been the most controversial aspect. A number of rule changes have been put into place to try and at least curb "tanking". Some have worked better than others and some were complete flops. But the bottom line is until there is a master overhaul in the rules, which I think will never come to SDL, if you want to be competitive at some point your going to have to swallow the pill and go down the rabbit hole.PS, was that last sentence a run-on?:puzzled:

Yes I am in this league. I have been managing the Cubs for 16 seasons now. I just have 2 different ID's I have ALL of my teams under this ID , but I sometimes post under Rynostopdawgs. A few years ago ( real time ) when they combined all your teams under one ID , somehow I kept both.

I'm not a fan of tanking either, but I didn't pay for his team. So he can do whatever he wants with it. And to tell you the truth, I don't have a problem with him sitting his top 2 SP. They are close to pitching 200 innings and I have always heard and been told to keep your younger SP under 200 innings for health purposes. Like I said, I don't care for tanking either, have I done it? Yes! And if I had a chance to get that STUD in the draft, I'd probably not play to hard to win either!! :)

Hey fellows. I am one of the teams in the bottom. I am use to it but tanning is mott one of them. I have been here since day one this is my first team and I will not give up. I look at myself as the st Louis browns praying for 1944. Lil. I do rest some older players to see if any younger players are viable replacements. Plus when we trade older players for picks or younger players that is not yanking it is rebuilding or building

Never did understand the difference between tanking and rebuilding- if you can't win with your older players what are you to do? You either rebuild or lose interest and drop out. That is just the way it works!!
