New way to track standings

June 07, 2004 at 09:46PM View BBCode

I ripped apart the back end and changed how standings are tracked. Let me know if you see any bugs.

Going forward, you'll be able to check out previous year's standings. There may be problems with previous season's standings when an expansion team is involved. I'm going to look into that one next.

FYI - I want to get this in because it may play a part into some of the anti-tanking stuff in the future.

I just made a significant number of back-end changes to account for this. Let me know if you see any problems on any of the pages. I created 2 dummy defunct teams to help with the testing, in both leagues, both baltimore.

I'd like to run an Expansion draft to test the latest changes. Any volunteers in the Short Term league?

No objections from NYN. What do you need?

Is there any way to get the standings for previous seasons?

They are being tracked going forward.

BleedRed - create a 2nd screen name on the Beta site and let me know what the name is. I'll run an Expansion draft with you, betauser, and the owner who is inactive.

Tyson, I have created another account on the Beta site if you need another participant for the expansion draft. Screen Name: Poppabeta2

When I go to the standings page initially the NL standings are on the left and the AL on the right. If I press the submit button, the standings are reversed so that the AL is on the left and he NL on the right.

Obviously this is a little confusing, so we should probably stick with one standard: NL on the right and AL on the left - same as the League Scores and All-stars pages.

I'll have to keep an eye on this one. I suspect once there are actual results for the previous seasons, it will display correctly. We'll have to see.

The 1957 long-term standings are messed up. The season is over, but the standing page is wrong.

Not all of the teams records add up to 162 games. I am 20-139, only 159 games, even though on the schedule page it says I played 162 games. Pittsburgh is 117-44 (161 games), though KC is right with 143-19 (adds up to the correct total of 162). There are a few other teams with records not adding up to 162.

I think this is because of the problems we had with the games played way back when, remember?

I was able to test what I needed to test with the Expansion process and make some adjustments. Let me know if anything else doesn't add up.
