Is the Catch ability overpowered?

I have a Running Back in the WPFL who is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, in the league. As a mismatch, I line him up at Slot Receiver in the Shotgun Formation to put him against my opponents Nickleback, who is usually slower.

In doing this, my RB throughout his Career has caught 69.3% of the passes thrown his way. Thats a pretty good number.

So now your wonder why did I bring this up? His Catching ability is a C.

I'm wondering if the high Completion Percentages we are seeing in our league, is not due to the highly talented QBs, but what if the Receivers are catching balls when they shouldn't be. I don't think a guy who has C catching should catch that many passes over his career.

Also, I don't run screens or short passes, he is out there for the Long Ball.

the first thing is, my understanding is that your league seems to have some kind of weirdly skewed rtsaults in favour of the passing game. i have no idea why and i have no idea if that may play a role here. second, the actual act of catchign the ball is affected by more factors than just Catch. off the top of my head your RB's Jump and Exe are a factor, as well as the skill set of the defender, defensive play call and the ability of your qb to throw (in this case) the deep pass.

by way of comparison, here is my top WR in the JBFL. this year he is catching balls at a 73% clip on A+ Catch, which is 2nd highest rate for a season in his career.

Agility also has a lot to do with creating separation against man to man defenses. But I will look to see if Catching needs to be weighted heavier.

My RB's Exe is a C+ and his Jump is A. Agility is an A.

It is easy to make Catches when wide open, but as WR Limas Sweed showed us a few years back, you can be wide open 3 times in 1 game in the endzone, if you can't catch, you can't catch wide open.

And I'd hate for my RB Green to lose his effectiveness in the Slot, but with C Catching, he shouldn't be catching it with such success.
