So...What happens now?

January 07, 2012 at 07:57PM View BBCode

Two teams hit the penalty and there are three teams tied for the next best record, all from diffrent divisions.
What is the tiebreaker? is it just an automatic coin flip? Anyone know?

I assume there is some sort of formula...

I need some input.......The follwing can be found under LEAGUE MESSAGES / LEAGUE RULES:

#6. any team who loses more than 102 games in a season will move down one position in the each round in the next year's amateur draft. Even if the pick has been traded, the penalty will be applied.

According to this rule Toronto and Seattle are only at risk to lose ONE spot in draft despite there being a 3 way tie for next best record.......

I am sorry for the confusion but I believe the draft order to be this:

Hitmen
D-Bags
Sinkers
Padres
Fools
Riverdogs
Ect....

I think it kind of sux that the Padres and Fools do not get any bonus but I must take the rule as literal as possible. The rule does not state anything about awarding a team or multiple teams for staying at or under the 102 loss mark.....it only states penalizing a team ONE SPOT for losing more than 102 games.......

I was under the impression that the draft order would only drop Seattle and Toronto one sport each as well. That is how the rules read. "One spot in draft, per team" If that is not how the rules are intended then we would need some clarification and a possible vote for next year.

I have fixed the draft to reflect my interpretation of the rule. To all that agree or oppose we can discuss but I think it is fair to take the rule as literal as possible.....that is, Toronto and Seattle only losing 1 Spot in draft.

The KC Hitmen got lucky by being chosen by ABE in front of the padres and the fools therefore moving them into the first draft pick spot. If we want to change this 'LUCK' choice by putting in place some sort of tie breakers for the future, Im all for it......

Lets hear some ideas.....

For tiebreakers what about BEST September record would get the #1 pick out of the teams that are tied. This would also somewhat prevent tanking in the final month of the season if there is an amazing stud prospect out there.

A second tie breaker would be needed in case of a tie of the record.

I'm good with that. It honestly doesn't matter to me, I just think we should have some sort of tiebreaker in place. Leaving things to ABE's virtual coin flip feels a little too random for me.

lol....maybe not such a good year to trade my 1st rd pick

I like the best september record for a tie breaker (helps with the anti-tanking).

We still need a secondary tie breaker in case the records are the same.....

Secondary tie-breaker could be the head-2-head records if in the same league....if not in the same leagues, maybe head-2-head against teams in the play-offs, or teams with winning records

clearly the rule doesnt stop tanking and is one spot really a penalty? I say move them to the end of the round... then they might think twice about trading everyone away

I would be for a bigger penalty. move them down two or even three spots?

Or perhaps if there is what would be a tie for the #1 pick, all tied teams move ahead of the teams that hit the penalty.

Before we get into tie-breakers and things, lets decide wether or not the rules for anti-tanking should be harsher. A simple yes or no vote to start.....majority wins......ok? Ill start a new thread.
