Wow, my team just sucks

I have to say, I did a really bad job with my EFL team. What a bunch of tards. My QB is hidious and to add insult to injury my HB is a fumbler. (Jack knows how much I love that)

Maybe my QB will work out, its hard to know with the new IMP curve but he has not been knocking down the IMPs.

I know in the past Chris has said that skills would be in letters but I think it would be better to see the numbers, especially with QB´s. There can be a major difference from low A- to high A- and without numbers you are just guessing. We get to play a season fast so you live with it and move on. But imagine you are in a game-a-day league and have to wait 8-10 seasons to get it right. I dont think thats a good thing for the overall activity level of a league

Actually I thought we'd see numbers by now.

I think the numbers should be there for the Initial Draft too, at least you get to see the collage IMPs and Combine with the Collage Draft. You get nothing with the Initial

My QB was a pleasant surprise...at least until I lost him for 2 1/2 months with a seperated shoulder:mad:

The improve curve is definitely surpressed. This guy is my best IC converter (A+ potential, A- att, 23 y/o)

http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=312642

He's converted just 6/23 position ICs, 3/9 on drills for a total of 9/32 (28%). My team has converted 164/1301 (13%). That seems kind of low but it's comparable to my BPFL team (11%) but of coarse they are mostly over the hill and have a lot of declines so it's not a good comparison.

The goal was to 'fix' the talent inflation and early on it seems Chris has done that.

I have a few guys who are converting fairly well. A S with 9 improves (C potential, D- attitude!), A WR with 7 improves (B- potential, D attitude), a WR with 6 (B- potential, C- attitude), a TE with 6 (A- potential, C attitude) and a T with 5 (A+ potential, D attitude). Attitude does not appear to be much a factor in improves.

My team is worse, Rich. We're 1-4 and suddenly I'm starting to wonder what it would be like to draft in the top few picks. I've only done it once.

Attitude affects the number of IC's a player gets in Drills; it does not affect conversion rate.

I was really surprised when the owners in the three pay leagues almost unanimously wanted letters instead of numbers.

What I really wanted to do with football was use a different grading system that would be more like:

96-100 A+
91-95 A
86-90 A-
81-85 B+
76-80 B
71-75 B-
66-70 C+
61-65 C
56-60 C-
51-55 D+
46-50 D
41-45 D-
0-40 F

I think this would give a much more accurate picture of skills while still maintaining some uncertainty, but I was concerned it would be too confusing for owners coming from the baseball side.

Sometimes you need to save people from themselves and I think this is one of those times. Probably toughest thing for any game is having the ability to keep peoples interest. You do that in different ways, changes, improvements, etc. But the most basic part of these Sim games is keeping it competitive and "learnable". The guys from the BB side are accustomed to letters so that's what they want. Once they see the difference using numbers they will be happier, and more competitive.

Boy, if I ever stated to prefer letters I take it back!

Sadly, I was rather happy with my draft; it was quite deep except at OL, I thought.

I knew it was crunch time, but all I could make myself do was bid the 1st 2 rounds and I loosely arranged the players through 3 rounds w/ LB/WR going thru 4.

Rich, I thought you said your team sucked? I wish my team sucked to the tune of a 9-3 record.

I didnt say I wasnt a good coach, Jack. ;)

But seriously, I got lucky. I could have been 0-4 but went to the bye 2-2 after I squeaked out and 18-17 win. That bye fell at the final game of day 2 so I had a chance to review things over night and get it sorted out.

It looks like the QB play in general has been really bad. When the QB´s are bad the whole thing just looks horrible, right? But to me this group is nowhere near as good as the first year drafts in Gamma, BP or Delta.

I think the defense is drafting stronger than it has in the past, that may have something to do with it.

Thats a good point, they are out there too. Its hard to score and I think thats a good thing. I said this a few weeks ago and its true, the game has come a long way and really is playing very realistically
