REPENT THE END IS NEAR

June 03, 2004 at 12:49AM View BBCode

The Wind just got there first sweep this season, Callahan won two of the games and Giambi who had no saves going into the series now has three. I expect the Earth to leave it's axis sometime before midnight.

of course Mitchell was 4-14 in the series so maybe the cockroaches will survive

NOPE....I am in two longtime keeper leagues with yahoo..Last-at-bat and GAM (Good Active Managers). I was commish of Last-at-bat for first three seasons (also does football), but stepped down before this season to just manage and be a sorta figure-head. The other league is in it's 4th season (also does football), but I am seriously considering dropping out all together because they are not as fun and addictive as SIMDynasty.

No question about it for me, this beats fantasy...much better when you feel like you are making decisions about your players, and building a team that works together

I've got two yahoo teams (free) and one roto team ($$$). I spend five minutes a day setting lieneups and checking stuff out. The rest of my 23 hours 55 minutes not spent sleeping, working or pooping I stare at my stats, your stats, his stats, standings, allstars, league leaders....can't stop looking at SimDynasty.

RL Sports Leagues

I'll never give up on fantasy games with RL sports. I have to agree with you guys that this game is fun and addicting. I have weeded out most of my "freebie" leagues, like Yahoo and Sporting News, etc, because I have found that I almost completely forget about them. But, I still do the leagues with all my buddies. We have a keeper baseball league that's in it's 9th or 10th season, which we now run on CBSSportsline. We keep like 15 players each year and have a redraft for the unprotected players, etc. It's not nearly as fun, but I feel obligated. I've been in the cellar with that league ever since I won it about four seasons ago. Injury bugs kill me with that game.

I play fantasy hoops with the same guys, which is basically ridiculous the way we work it. I don't even want to get into it, but they always pull me back in every year. And I always get waxed.

Fantasy football is probably the best it gets for me. Our group has been together for about 12 years now (with a couple exceptions) and we all look forward to it. We have to do our live draft online now because everyone lives in different parts of the country (it is old college buddies...different from the group I play hoops and baseball with). But, it's one of the better ways to keep in touch with each other and we always have something to trash talk each other about. I was dethroned this past season for the first time in the last four years. It's not a keeper league. Just seems like my draft strategy works out a little better than some of the others. But, it's mostly just luck. I picked up a couple other leagues around my home town last season and ended up winning one and in second in the other, so I still came out ahead on the season.

I guess that's what I like about the RL sports fantasy games. Competition with friends and the trash talk afterwards. Most seasons I do o.k. and have something to trash talk about come next season.

If it makes you feel better, you can always trash talk my team.......of course, you would be right.:(

I've made 21 trades here in less than a season and a half. That is about as addictive as I can imagine one of these games getting.

And then two series later, when you have a better record, you could come back and trash talk my team. It probably would make me feel better, though.:spin::D
