Actually it does make sense that they would not want to punt the ball and give the other team a chance to return a kick for a score or get a chance to do any damage.

The 3rd down run is probably a low possibility, but not 0%, and if it goes for good yardage you still have the timeout.

I disagree. All that work to let the clock run out from midfield when you have 1 timeout remaining? If it was from the 20 yardline OK, but after getting in position where a 20 yard gain could get you a FG or more?

It just happened to Chi in our first pre-season game in almost the exact circumstance. They also had 1 timeout remaining

Agreed that that play call should not have happened.

"allow the remaining time to expire" implies that the expiration is intentional. This occurred because 4th down was reached outside of field goal range.

As far as the run on 3rd and long, do you have a run in your 3rd and long 2-minute strategies?

I had a run in there (less than 25% of the time) because you need to have a run in there, it could be 3rd and 9 from the my 25 and IŽd want to run out the clock.

I know its not fair to complain about the decsion making of of the computer and thats not my intention. Maybe the solution is breaking down the 2 min offense by Yellow Zone - Green Zone inside the 50 yard line - Green past the 50 yard line - Red Zone.

Everything is fair in Beta... I guess what I was trying to determine is if the computer wasn't following your strategy or if it was but you didn't have enough control.

Things are more conservative at the end of the half because you aren't "desperate" yet, and a mistake could lead to a Pick 6 or something similarly disastrous. So I don't "take over" the way I do at the end of the game and start making decisions for you.

I'll see if there's a good way to add more management to this without adding 4 more strategy tabs.

Would be interested to hear some other opinions, but I think a lot of these games are won at the end of the first half because its a huge momentum swing point in the game. You are always looking for the two score advantage and getting one at the end of the half combined with getting the ball back to start the second half, or giving one up and having to kick it to start the 3rd is where a kot of these games are won and lost. For me time management and play calling are most importent in last 2 min of the first half
