That's the longest injury I have seen in SD.
Hodge Suffers Career Threatening Injury
(Reuters - Philadelphia)
Whitey hodge suffered a multiple fracture to his left leg in today's game. Scottie doctors have determined the injury as "serious" and have gone so far as to say that it might be career ending.
"He's out for the season, that's for sure. With intense rehabilitation over the winter, he may be able to get nearly full mobility back for next season."

I saw a guy get injured for 58 days about two-thirds the way through the season in the JJL. This ended his season. Four days into the following season, he was injured for SD's max of 60 days. It was a young RP, so I figured he had TJ surgery or something and tried to come back too early. Sad thing is, the guy was only a C+ RP that had been brought up to fill in for another injured RP, that retired at the end of the season. He'd only thrown like 12 innings. He was waived after the second injury, which turned out to be career-ending.
As for the TRL.... there have been 22 50-day or longer injuries since 1967. This includes 5 55-day injuries. You have these that are longer than 55:
8/27/1990 Whitey Hodge of the Chicago Scotties is injured and is expected to be out 58 days.
9/27/1978 Skip Rittwage of the Washington Weaklings is injured and is expected to be out 58 days.
4/16/1975 Tug Thompson of the Cincinnati Red Stockings is injured and is expected to be out 57 days.
8/8/1972 Reggie Jackson of the Chicago Anteaters is injured and is expected to be out 60 days.
8/22/1969 Red Hernandez of the Washington Warriors is injured and is expected to be out 59 days.
My longest injury here has been: 8/9/1969 Rand al"Thor of the Baltimore Privateers is injured and is expected to be out 54 days.
I had a 26 YO(OS) SP that spent 57 days on the DL in the HWL last year. Ticked me off, as he wound up with just 26 ICs.

Really... 61? The injury rules must have changed. The max used to be 60 days.
