Trade Vote

There have been 3 votes to overturn recent trade: <br />A trade has been completed between the Minnesota Ka-Zars and the New York Gothams. The New York Gothams receive <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=8484835">Alex Smith</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=7386495">Roy Stimson</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=7386535">Eddie Foster</a>, Draft Pick - 1992 Round 1 (MIN) from the Minnesota Ka-Zars in exchange for <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=6984283">Tim Grater</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=8870170">John Tepedino</a>, <a target = "_blank" href = "http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=6904673">Joe Crotty</a>. <br /><br />Please take a moment to vote on this trade if you haven't already at http://www.simdynasty.com/tradevote.jsp?tradeid=959466&newsid=1066975440 or click the Trade Vote link found in the news item for the trade.<br /><br />We have also posted this trade to a special area of the message board where a few experienced owners can comment on the trade. <a href='http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=315958'>You can view that thread here.</a><br /><br />If 66% of the owners who vote, vote to overturn, we will reverse the trade; thus, if you do not think the trade should be overturned, it is not enough to simply not vote to overturn it; please vote to let the trade stand or at least abstain so your vote is counted. Owners involved in the trade are not eligible to vote. We will allow all owners at least 3 days to vote. In the event that there are draft picks involved, the draft runs before voting concludes, and the trade is reversed, we will clone players to make things right for the two owners involved. We ask that you refrain from discussing trades. Nothing positive ever comes from this. Anyone discussing any trades publicly may have their posting privileges revoked.<br /><br />If there are aspects of the trade that need to be brought to light, such as CPs involved in the trade, please post a note in Support for Admin.<br /><br /> IMPORTANT: Please remember that not all trades are equal, and not all inequal trades should be overturned. A trade should only be overturned if there is bad faith on the part of one or both of the teams involved. If both teams get something they need out of the trade and neither party is taking advantage of an unaware trading partner, the trade should stand. Overturning a trade may not be used as a strategic option.<br /><br />If either of the two owners involved in this deal would like to comment on the deal, please post a private note in Support and I will attach your comments to this thread.<br /><br /> See this thread for info on this process:<br /> http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=311476<br /><br />Thanks, <br />Admin

Note from ChipArm:

My view of the trade;

What I give up:

A 24 year old B starter (Tependino) with rotation experience the past two years (with improves should be a B+ next year)

A veteran infielder (Crotty) was a B+ who got displaced this year by two younger players having, career-to-date years. A solid .280, 15 hr guy.

A 28 B+ outfielder who was a former #6 overall who produced last year, and was my #4 outfielder. Was slated to start, but a 34 year old had a HOT start that kept him benched.

I get.

A #1 pick that I need to wait two seasons for. Where it is in the draft, and the quality of the draft are unknown. Also having to wait a year for it, devalue the pick slightly.

A reliever (B+) who is 23, with more experience than my 24 year old I am giving up, with less success in the majors. He is in his last year where he can be sent to the minors.

A 31 year old B outfieder who has some power, but will be a fourth outfielder whose main skill is a high mentoring score.

A 25 year old second baseman with C- health, having a good year (currently the All-Star 2b) at a weak position. Will platoon with my team, which has the league's worst record.

If you read the end of the Admin's note, it states that trades don't have to be even, but that there is no collusion involved and/or one owner takes advantage of another. Neither owner is a newbie, and since my team has been a few years, I am hardly likely to be taking advantage of anyone. (If I have been, I am doing a very poor job of it).

Deal was proposed to me in this form after having not accepted a previous offer for Tependino.

In a nutshell, I sent two quality pieces, and got two quality pieces back. The rest is noise.

The other owner has stated pretty much my assessment of the trade.

At this point, with this team I have, my Rd 1 is going to be mid-range to high. It's two years from now, as pointed out, but I based the decision to trade the Rd 1 on a few primary factors.

The main factor: trading a Rd 1 for a sure-fire solid SP, which was the only way I'd deal it. I based that decision on having been a longtime owner, having seen the drafts in the TRL, and simply not being interested in a prospect I have to develop over many seasons.

The SP I traded for, any detractors should note the numbers, not the current ERA. Every time the SP has pitched, in the same league mind, he's had mostly solid 7-inning outings against good offensive teams. And he should, SHOULD, only get better as he's in his development prime.

Overall, my team now has a blanket of reasonable youth, a rebuild without development.

The other good thing, if I want to truly rebuild, I have good players hitting their prime I can trade for draft picks and prospects later.
