October 19, 2011 at 06:47PM View BBCode

Alright, you guys know the drill. Vote for whomever you think is worthy of election. I will keep this thread up until the end of the regular season or until we have 100% participation like last season.

The Rules:

- All current team owners are eligible to vote.
- A player receiving "yes" votes on at least 75% (rounded up) of the ballots with a minimum of 8 votes will be elected.
- A player must receive at least two "yes" votes to remain on the ballot for next season.
- Any players on the ballot 5 times and do not receive enough votes to be elected will be removed from future ballots.

Returning Nominees:

Pittsburgh Pitts vote for:

Loren Averill (2B)
Defense doesn't get a whole lot of love in SD. This guy was terrific. Six Gold Gloves...at the 2B position. Lifetime +/- of +251. He had only 93 errors in over 11,000 chances...at 2B. Pretty impressive.

Richard Rahl (3B)
You can rack up a lot of stats over a 20 year career and I'm not usually all that kind to stats compilers, but I'll give the nod to this guy. Those were 20 extremely consistent and productive years.

Bailey Lyndon Schwartz (C)
Marginal HOF stats, but not from a Catcher. When you consider the position he certainly belongs.

braves vote for:

averill-probably my favorite ever player even though i did not draft him. incredibly consistent, and if management had not sat him his last couple of seasons, he would have plowed through 3000 hits.

going with what gator said above, my favorite averill fact is that from 77-82, 6 full seasons, he had 16 errors at 2nd, including a perfect season in 79.

Baltimore votes for:

Gagne
Schwartz (I see your Schwartz is as big as mine)
Rahl
Averill
Stokes
Giemke
Curry

I agree with Pier, a lot of borderliners here... not exactly easy decisions on some, especially the SPs.

OK guys, we're down to 12 games. So far we've had NYA, CHA, CLE, BOS, WAS, MIN and BAL from the AL... PIT, MIL, NYN, STL, and PHI, from the NL vote.

This means we're still waiting on votes from DET from the AL... CHN, BRO, and CIN from the NL to vote. This means you guys have 4 days until the regular season ends and I tally up the votes.
