OK so we all know chris is too busy to set his draft preferences, I'd be happy to do it for him if he asked, but I am flabbergasted that Calgary chose Mulitalo over Carapella.

Mulitalo is a nice DE, he's already #11, with huge potential but given that we still have very little idea how much individual defensive players impact the game passing on a "franchise" QB just is crazy to me. Carapella is already among the 7 best QBs in the league and he's only 22 years old.

Yeah, I had Mulitalo ranked over Carapella, but that's only because I drafted my franchise guy last season. There ought to be some sort of positional importance built into the default draft rankings. It obviously needs to go beyond the overall player ratings.

(Incidentally, I was overjoyed to take C Terry Schilling in the 2nd round. I had him ranked 3rd overall since O-line is a severe weakness of mine. Hopefully he can make a successful transition to LT, I desperately need help in the pass blocking department!)

You, and Miami, are the only teams who realistically wouldn't have Carapella #1.

As usual, of late, I spent roughly 8 minutes on the draft and am happy with my first round pick and amused by the potential of my third round pick.

0? Ouch. That's awful.

I took Mulitalo with my eyes wide open. If I had to do it over, I would take Mulitalo over Carapella again. In fact, if I hadn't gotten Mulitalo I would have taken Pound.

By and large, I got the players I wanted. Except for round 7, all the players I drafted were in their round cluster. As far as I am concerned, the system worked just as it should have.

Hmm... interesting thought. Although the way it is now, the system rewards those who are paying attention. If I automate too much intelligence into the game, it gets to the point where there's no need to actually play, so I need to balance the needs of automating out "busy work" while still requiring active participation.

I hit the jackpot?!? I haven't even had a chance to check the draft results, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm not sure how much it would matter what the rest of my draft class looks like..considering I had an older, #16 QB, I'm pretty happy..maybe even get to say bye to top-3 draft picks for a while?
