I'm not real active on the forum but there is one reason I read it on a regular basis. Here is a post from the great philosopher tm4559
"well..........
we don't know where it is on the velocity.
it could max it out, but, it doesn't affect how the control improves beyond what it brings the bundled score to. 95 is not very different from 100 in that respect. very little, really, because the bundle is weighted to control by some unknow factor. so, the difference in the average bundled score, if the velocity and control were equal, would be 2.5 points (if the velocity were 100 or 95, that difference i mean). so, since the control is heavier in the average (the bundled score, this is the base to improve on, not the true average) then the difference in the bundled score (if the velocity score were 100 or 95) is actually less than 2.5. see how that works? this stuff about a score maxing out is one of the big misconceptions about how bundling works. this is development 101 here.
on the other hand, when the control is dominant, it does, in fact, carry with it a more negative factor on how the other skill improves, because the control is weighted higher, and the bundled base is always higher than what the numeric average of the two skills gives. but still, there is no disadvantage attached to maxing out the control skill beyond how it affects the bundled base to be improved on.
figure jensen in the middle of c. it's os 19. give it three and half grades. c, c+, b-, b, thats three, and the half, b+ at the end. that is the normal expectation. if its low on the c, i might end on the B. worst case is, it gets unlucky, ends on b-. unlikely, not impossible. good luck."
I like to think I have a pretty good handle on how to project players from draft to majors, but finding information like this gem not only makes me question my knowledge but also my sanity.
The point is just reading stuff here is some of the best entertainment in the world - all at the right price.
