Kickoff formations.

Since mid season, kickoff returns have been getting longer.
To counteract this horrifying trend, I went to the specific formation depth charts to see what might be done. I found:
In the kickoff and safety punt formation, there are: 1 kicker; 8 defensive players and 2 offensive tackles.
The 2 OL I am fielding get A in the OVR box but have no skills to perform the task. When I seek DL/LBs well versed in the holy sextet of defense [run cover, tackle, speed, pursuit, agility, exe:], they are rated at C+, although they are red letter in the sextet. They should be A-.
There was a similar discussion involving OL subbing for TE1,2
in PAT/FG formations several seasons back. At the time, it was determined the EXE hit would be minimal. That was before the recent changes in exe and the new importance placed on position match.
Maybe we could change the position name to something generic like Defensive specialist or Special teams player or Defensive lineman.
I would like to feel that the player being played in a special teams position was my best choice and not being penalized for 'being out of position'. I don't think position should count much on special teams. I'm not talking about the specialty roles like KR, KRB or gunner, just the guys who go flying all over the field trying to thwart the runback. They should be rated according to their abilities in the 'big 6' alone, with aggression as a modifier.
I believe OL is a mis-label.

The onside kick return has 6 hands team; 2 defensive players and 2 offensive guards.
These guards are also out of place. When we start making our own plays, they will be the ones that get kicked at.
