Showdown in the ATL
September 20, 2011 at 09:07PM View BBCode
Las Vegas will bring its 9-0 record into Atlanta tonight for a prime-time battle with the 8-1 Legends. Atlanta is coming off back-to-back wins against NY and AZ, two very dangerous offenses, so the Legends D looks to be highly legit.
This is quite a stretch of four games for ATL, following us with the first battle with 8-1 Winnipeg. Home field in the NFC is on the line over there, now that ATL has the tiebreaker on AZ in its pocket.
We've got a couple very nice streaks on the line, too. We've won 27 straight in the regular season dating back to a Week 15 OT loss to Houston in 1963. We've also won 27 straight counting postseason, going back to the 63 AFC title game, also a loss to Hou.
Good times!

That's an amazing streak! The 'Bonies get a crack at you the last week of the season. That one could have implecations as well. But there is a long way between then and now. I have to play Atlanta twice still and Houston. And the Spiders already beat me so if I don't get at least a split with Atl I'm toast.
Good times, indeed:spin:

Atlanta has been far from dominant, with only the 5th best defense and tied for the 6th best offense, so I'm not sure what we can do against Las Vegas, but it's at home (too bad it won't matter much)...so we'll see.
We have the 5th-worst QB Rating, but that's all we need to have an effective passing game in this system. It won't terrorize any defense (esp Las Vegas's!), but it's a better option than our running game at the moment..
Las Vegas is showing us how dominant they are...leading 7-0 after one quarter--and sitting on our 7 yard line!

It's early yet. You didn't beat those good teams by accident. Your defense has a lot of talent, too.

Thanks, but I've got a bunch of lucky wins over some not-so-good teams too..current SOS (before the Las Vegas game, which is now 17-3): 29-52 (.358).
My remaining schedule (including Las Vegas): 37-26 (.587). Any way you look at it, it's an easy schedule, but it's a difference of over 2 wins/team from the first 9 games against the last 7...and even bigger if you include 7-2 Arizona in the second half.

Told ya! :P
Sad to see we scored the fewest number of points against you guys of any team so far this season...really hope we can sneak into the playoffs!

Looking bleak for Ariz. The Spiders tippy-toed past Hou. {spiders have lots of toes and needed them all]. They got 2 on their card with the Dancing Bears [a grisely affair] and then 2 ganders at the Geese. Finally, a luncheon with the hi-calorie Brownies [and these boy scvouts on a diet].
Four with division rivals and 1 with a spoiler.:o Doomed, I say, doomed.
