We've got a chance now

After a spirited fourth quarter comeback to down the Zambonies 28-24 in week 14 the Washington Sons of Riggo find themselves right back in the playoff race.

After week 8 Washington looked done at 3-5 but they have reeled off five straight wins, four on the road, to take a one game lead in the NFC East . The SOR's are almost back to full health as well after a series of injuries to key starters, as they will get cornerback John Bright back for week 15 while DE Ray Grantham and starting FB John Gardner, out since game 4, may both be ready for week 16.

Washington can't afford to stumble down the stretch however, while they hold the tie break against Atlanta and Chicago Winnipeg holds the tie break over the SOR so Washington may be forced to win out to advance to the playoffs.

Washington's three sacks in week 14 allowed them to set a new team single season sacks record with 33.

I wouldn't want to play the SOR right now. Team is lighting it up.

Hey! What was the idea of allowing 14 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter against Houston? Some of us need Houston to lose or our season is over! LOL

Third play of the second half is a microcosm of the first half of the year for Washington .

After building a ten point lead in a solid first half newly returned CB John Bright picks off the Henchmen to put Washington in business inside the Houston 30 but veteran DT Al Bell is whistled for offside and Houston keeps the ball.

Yeah, I've watched you with interest. It would be fun to see you and I play this season. Who knows what kind of botched idiocy would result in one of us accidentally winning. :)

A huge goal line stand on 1st and goal from the one on the final play of the game keeps Washington's, and apparently Hamilton's, playoff hopes alive.

Washington comes back for the second week in a row downing Houston 38-34 in a wild one at Joe Gibbs Field.

Larry Orr slogged through the rain and near freezing temperatures for 79 yards and three TDs while Ken Seabaugh, the GFL's all time leader in receiving yardage, caught five balls for 148 yards to pace the offense but it was the defense that saved the day. The stuff on the final play preserved the victory but the defense also stiffened earlier in the fourth, after a fumble gave Houston the ball on the Washington 13, and forced Houston to kick a FG.

Hooray! (Sorry, fulla, that's got to bite after your team charged back and reclaimed a solid season.) I play Miami and San Francisco. All I have to do is win both and I return to the postseason. I'm confident that we can find a way to lose one, but I'm still hopefull that we don't.

I like Hamilton's odds, unfortunately.
