Wishlist - View Other Depth Charts

I know we can do it by viewing boxscores but it would be nice to have a "league lineup" page. like we do in baseball, to facilitate trading.

I think getting an actual live view of your opponent's depth chart might be a bit too much of a giveaway, but I could do a similar page just displaying the starters from the last game. The problem is that the league ineups page only needs to show 8 players per team, where you have 24 starters per team in football, so it doesn't lend itself to a nice summary page. I'd have to break it down by offense/defense/kickers, but then it starts getting less useful for trading as it's no longer a nice simple summary.

I do like the idea, though, just not sure of the best implementation.

Maybe it shouldn't show the team's actual current depth chart, just the best overall rated player at each position. Sort of, the default starters.

You can see that from the roster .

How about an asterisk beside basic set starters, pro set/4-3, on the roster page ?

I'd think that the league line-up pages like what we have in baseball would be great. I wouldn't mind it being set up like with one page each for Offense/Defense/Special Teams.

I also don't think it'd be too much of a give-away if it only used the "Parent Depth Charts for All Formations". Any advantage you get from knowing a player's depth chart is from knowing stuff like which LB is playing Strong Side or which Wide Receiver is playing Split End..not from knowing that such and such QB is starting..

Hm, that is theoretically possible. I'll take a look at it.

ANOTHER NEW PAGE:

At the top of the roster and depth chart pages I would like to see 2 buttons similar to those on top of the standings page. They would say
'preseason' and 'reg season'.
The preseason roster/depth chart page would be temporary for the 4 ps games. It would allow us to play all our youngsters/rookies for a look and ICs.
The reg season roster/dc would automatically come into force at the start of the reg season and require little adjustment.
This game moves fast. As it is, we have to hustle in a 4 hr window [in the morning when some may be working] to get the roster and DChart changed over for the season opener.
This would make it easy for the owner to set lineup at his leisure the night before.
I don't think the sim exacts an execution penalty for not having your starters play 2-3 qtrs of tune-up ball, so why risk injury.
Salary/roster limit cuts would come off the reg season master chart.

There is no execution penalty for not having your starters play, you just deprive them of some IC's, but if they are veterans that may not mean anything.
