First season with SimDynasty, is everyone active? Is this game like Mogul, where new teams can be added and only the top two teams are in the playoffs this season?

i just took over the abandoned texas team.
new teams are not added. we will have the same 16 teams for the remained of this season and two more seasons.
then the league will redraft with those who decide to stay remaining.
the top two teams from each league (AL/NL) make the playoffs.

i hope you enjoy the game. but i warn you it can be frustrating at times - moreso in the pay leagues.
