Draft has run

August 06, 2011 at 08:21AM View formatted

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
The draft has run; however, trying to view the draft results is broken so I can't really assess the results yet. I can see the drafted players on rosters though. I'm pausing games (they would ordinarily start right away in the morning after the draft) until I can fix the draft viewer and make sure it all went according to plan.

You can go ahead and arrange your players; if anything catastrophic happened I'll restore from last night's backup.

NY picked 14th, 1 spot behind Houston. A bunch of us were tied at 10-6, and NY beat but Houston in the one meeting between the two teams but Houston won thier division and actually advanced further (Conference Championship game) then NY.

I dont think we need to re-do the draft over it but is that how the tie.breaker should work?

My draftees showed up on my roster with QB in their 'train as' column.

I have an RB who has QB in his train as column (his BR is HB and ThrP/ThrA are 36/37), but my other draftees are training for their regular position.

I noticed that the draftees came in with lower conditioning than everyone else.

What that means is for some reason they didn't have their training set up at all; QB is just the first on the list so it shows up if training is blabk. I'll look into it. I think this is related to the "players with 0 salary" problem that we had before.

Pretty much what I wanted 6 front seven defenders and a kicker.

I got two of my top 5 and 3 of my top 20 so I'm happy .

I got 2 of my top 6, 4 of my top 25, and all in my top 41.

Whether or not I made good ranking choices is highly debatable, but I can't really complain that I didn't get guys I wanted.

I got people that I wanted in positions that I needed. It will be a little awkward carrying 4 TE's, but I think we can make it work. :)

OK, going to the College Draft page now properly displays the draft results.

Is there a way to have it show the players who were not drafted?

Generally, that will be super helpful right after the draft because you want to know who is a FA that you might want.

Wow, Cleveland took the best punter available at #10 .

And then another one for good measure. And, I think, 4 TE.

Methinks Tyson did not set his draft.

Hmm... I could show a list of players that were invited to the Combine but not drafted... that wouldn't include people yuo added to your draft list but should get those you are interested in. I don't know how well I could integrate it onto that page, though, maybe it would work better as a tab on the Waiver Wire page.

I was thinking of how in baseball you can see down the side what team everyone ended up on as well as see who is a FA.

At a very quick glance, you can go through the page after draft has run and see who wasn't drafted and where you had them ranked.

With this quantity of players, it's not particularly easy to remember the names and then go find them on WW.

I see what you're saying.

The football draft page is constructed slightly differently, in that it shows you who drafted that player, not where that player currently is, which is why Free Agents aren't part of the dataset. I'll tinker with it.

Since it looks like the draft ran properly, I am unpausing the league.
